91 supra rough idle start up after warm

need help on my 91 stock turbo supra. After driving for a while and i turn off the car, then start back up, the engine sometime misses out and wants to die, until i pump the throttle and rev the motor up to around 2000rpm and hold for round 5-10 sec's, if i let off the throttle at that point the motor will idle at the proper rpm. note: this behavior is incosistant and does not happen everytime i stop driving the car and restart the motor at a later time (say within 5-10mins).

i wast told my EGR valve could not be working right, or something along this line.

i can not pull a code during this momentary phenomena.

your thoughts please?
