i wrecked my car about a year and half ago, it was pretty bad. the left part of the car was bent down behind the front bumper. well after the wreck i put the car back together. i switched out the front bumper of my 88 w/ an 89+ bumper. but i had no brackets or anything with the bumper that i got. so i was wondering how much of a gap there is supposed to be between the center part of the bumper and the nose piece above it.

Hell, I didn't bend anything nor use any other hardware.

Just took off the old bumper, put on 89+ bumper and everything fit fine.

However, the center riser piece on the bumper does have a bit of a gap from the upper nose...but it doesn't look weird or out of place. I'd say probably a 3/4" gap.

i used the metal support from a 89 but you don't have to attatch it to any thing, you can always make a bracket for it.

yeah thats what i was thinking. my gap is not the same all the way across. it might be from the wreck i had. im going to try and pull the motor in couple of weeks and put it in the body to get the panels all lined up. maybe it will look better then. ive got like 5/8 gap on side and 3/16" gap on the other side.

has any one ever painted there engine bay black with a spray can.
if so how did it turn out?
