87 harness and ecu in 89 body?

So i have an 89 supra, with an 89 7mgte. I just swapped the 89 7m from my 87 that was runnin fine. Now there is 2 plugs by the ecu that 1. Doesnt plug into and 2. Just isnt there. The plugs that dont match go to the 89 body harness.

Have any of you used an 87 harness and ecu in a 89 body?

Ill get pics of them if needed.

I did the opposite. That way is kind of eh. You have to mount the hac sensor since 89+ have it internally.

You have to swap over the pps wiring.

Cut and solder all the correct pins and plugs in nad even if the big plug fits its not wired correctly.

Better to just start with the right harness and be done with it, tho not impossible.

I have a 87-88 engine harness and ecu in my 89.
Like mentioned above you will need to mount the hac sensor.
But everything but the abs plugged in on my car.

I have an 87 body, Looking to run a stinger ems, modified early 89 engine harness, i have all the dash/body wiring from my 89, can i just swap the fuseboxes and dash/body harnesses over to the 87 from the 89?

Im sure you could. Idk what plugs changed on the body harness tho.

Putting a 89 harness into a 87 is not that bad tho.
