Since I have a spare engine at hand I thought I might aswell build it.

So I decided I would make a list of what is needed so I can get a budget ready. The first list I'm making will be for stock and near-stock builds.

Have I missed anything? The list does seem a bit empty for a COMPLETE rebuild. :p

Well that seems pretty good internal wise.

You should probably give us a power goal
and we can go from there.

Are you goin .20 over or .40 over?
or just stock?

I'm sure I'll forget some stuff myself, but don't forget all your other misc gaskets and seals. If it's all apart, may as well replace them, especially ones that are hard to get to. Don't forget to budget money for machining work. Cylinder overbore, decking the block/head, polishing crank/cams if necessary, etc. Add at least $100 for misc chemicals/supplies you'll innevitably end up using like penetrating fluid, gasket cleaner, shop rags, misc hoses/clamps, etc.

I'm sure more people will chime in with stuff to keep in mind :)

I'm making the list(s) for others aswell since I couldn't find any out there (trying to be usefull here ;)). I will probably go ,020 over and the gasket I know will have to be thicker.

I will also make a list with what is needed for higher horsepower gains aswell, so I can compare horsepower vs. money spent. But first I need a complete list of what is required for stock rebuild, then I can start swapping stuff with high-performance aftermarket parts. :p

Price of materials and machinists etc. will be in another list. :)

Make sure you factor in the quantities you need, such as pistons and rods, looks like you only put the price down for one. Also, dont forget to order the correct bearings, they are sold in 5 different sizes
