7M block: what is this port?

I'm referring to the one at the upper left of the crank snout. It appears to not be used, but it also doesn't look like it bottoms out like the rest (there is something else back there). I'm thinking it's just connected to the main stud threads (no clue why), but I want to make sure it isn't an oil pressure port that needs plugged. Thanks!

I didn't realize the oil driveshaft flange bolted over the crank snout.
I thought it was oriented vertically. But then, it has been awhile since I had my rear timing cover off.

I Put nothing there, and I'm golden! When you install all front cover bolts, use Thread Sealant on all of them.

Loctite makes a good one that comes in a stick from summit.

Check your timing cover see if maybe a bolt goes there to hold it on

Nothing on the timing cover for it.

Good to know! Though I thought just the one 14mm needed sealant? (according to the tsrm)
