I tell people that if you want to street race from light to light, go with the 60-1. You will make the 400 hp but if you add the ball bearings to that turbo, you will make it there faster

From seeing various dyno graphs, it looks like to hit 400whp on a CT-26 57 trim you need to push 18-19 psi.

How much boost do you think it will take to hit 400whp on the T4 60-1?

You're going to have to be at or close to those kinds of boost levels on any turbo to land in the 400's.

Probably about the same... That's just a guess though.

sp61's make it in the boost range with supporting modswith more easily. If i redid my setup id pick a similar turbo with BB (money permitting) that allowed me that whp in mind at a lower boost... 18psi is (to me) pushing it on pump with out meth on a stock ecu with a piggy back

Bigger turbo should land the airflow needed for the hp levels with less PSI worshiping

I can't wait to put my sp61 on. I'm almost there. My WB, Maft, Walbro, and 550's need to be installed yet. I have it all, it's just not. I'm working on it though! :)

anyone running a t4 60-1 and can talk about it...whats the lag like compared to a ct26-57, when does full boost come on, about how much psi needs to be run to hit 400whp?500whp?

I've run both.

The upgraded CT hits boost hard and fast, but loses steam as you approach redline. This was actually more difficult to drive - for instance, left hand turns, you need to stay off the pedal, or full boost will hit halfway around the corner and the back end goes nuts. This turbo goes from zero boost to 18+ psi about as fast as you can snap your fingers.

The T4 based unit spools slower, and pulls hard right until you start bouncing off the rev limiter. *Much* harder than the upgraded CT at high RPM, it's a very noticeable difference. It's much more controllable - it 'rolls' into boost over several seconds, instead of punching you in the small of the back. IMO, what you lose in instant response is more than made up by the extra response high in the RPM range, plus you gain a lot of driveability.

As for where in the RPM range these hit... I've never really noticed. Once you hit this level of performance, when pushing the pedal on the right all the way to the floor, you damn well better be looking at the road ahead or you're going to kill yourself, and possibly a bunch of other unlucky people on or near the road.

i had a 60-1CT26 and loved the power but never got a chance to dyno cause i blow a rod at the track! the ct26 spooled quick for a untuned 7m! i had the basis mods lex/550s and i ran a 14. in the 1/4 with boost settings stuck at 9 psi :(, with the boost up to about 15psi i was able to keep up with a friends eg6/gsrT and a modded g37 coupe :).

Not to mention cost and work. The 'T4' will not bolt right on. You'll have to acquire more parts to get it to mount, which equals $$$$$.

The 57Trim bolts right on! :)

Over a BOSS Stage 4 54 trim? Over a BOSS Jr?

well got news on the 601 from today. The 601 I bought was listed as a CT26 601 true upgrade. it appears to be a T series 60-1 stuffed in the CT intake housing, with a turbonetics exhaust housing. Or atleast that's how it appears to be. Spool is a joke with this. it takes till 4500 to get any real boost outta it. and at only 15psi w/ 550's Lex AFM, walbro, AFPR, Forged bottom end and lower comp among other things it only pulled 354.89RWHP just a few hours ago at Boost Logic. I thought it was built with 400+ capability but it appears not. I'm not sure why it didn't put down more.

Were referring to the T4 60-1 not a CT26 upgrade.

Man those numbers are low for 15 psi and that turbonetics ct26-60-1. I dynoed 377rwhp and over 400 rwtq on stock 440s and stock front mount at 15 psi on an upgradded ct26-60-1. I was running lean though and had to turn it down to 12 psi and made 355rwhp and 377 rwtq. What was your a/f ratio fot the runs? Dyno Graph?
