Hey sorry if something like this has been asked before. But after doing some research on what kind of oil to use on my 1j swap I've decided on Castrol 5W40 full synthetic. I've heard that it's ideal to look for the lowest value for the first number as this represents cold temp viscosity and since the latter number is viscosity at operating temps(correct me if I'm wrong) that it would be good to have something heavier on that end.
Before this I used to use 20w50 Castrol non synthetic in my 7m,because a lot of friends recommended heavier weight oils for old turbo motors like the 7m. I never really had an issue but...knowledge is power right?
Basically I want to know if this is a good type of oil to run or if I should stick to something heavier & non synthetic for a 1j swap, that's probably going to have the usual amount of mileage you'd expect from a used jdm motor.
Any help or insight would be appreciated I want to keep this motor healthy. :biggrinbo
