2jzgte vvti -- No spark after a long drive

Hey Guys,


My 98 Lexus sc300 (gte vvti swapped) will not restart after I turn the car off, and come back to start it (store, gas station, etc).

It's not getting spark at the plugs when this happens. It starts up fine after the car cools off though.

I was thinking bad igniter or crank position sensor, not sure where to start.

I've searched with no solid results. Anyone have else this problem?

I have already tried that. For some reason my scanner will not communicate with the car. I have a snapon solus pro.

Do you have the diagnostic port in the engine bay and stock ECU? If so you can retrieve them the normal way.

Alright, I jumped the diagnostic port, and I'm getting a fast, continuous flashing light. This means there no codes preset. Correct?

The cel comes on briefly after I have driven the car hard, but it usually goes away soon after I let off.

When is starts cold turn it off. Heat up the crank sensor with a heat gun and then see if it starts. Careful not to melt the sensor tho.
