So this thread is mainly for me, I've been bookmarking alot of stuff at "work" :biglaugh: and keep forgetting to transfer them so I can reference at home. I'm doing a 2jzge-T w/7M electronics (link to build thread is in my sig) and have a compiled a decent list of posts related to this swap. If anyone else has anything to add, please do so!

Stuff you need:
-2jzge (duh), preferably w/all accessories
-1jz bellhousing if you're using a R154, 2jz W58 bellhousing if you are using a W58 trans
-1jz flywheel or a lightweight FW like DM and 935 sell
-Jza70 motor mounts (late '89+) or BIC swap mounts ('86-early'89 and late'89-'92)
-7M harness/ECU, sensors, injectors etc.

Found a vac diagram for the 2jzge that was infinitely helpful in hooking things up, added to the list. Should have some more stuff to add once it's actually running :)

Which one is more reliable, the 7m or 2jz, and how hard is it to put the 2jz in a mkIII? Can I use my stock shifter and steering wheel? Is the 2jz steering wheel different? I was also wondering if I could use my old 7m rings so I don't have to buy any new ones for my 2jz. Thanks.

Great work doc, and even if you sticky it, you'll still get tons of silly questions, but I hope it ends up on the sticky list. I've saved this to my favorites for the helpful links and I already know the answer to most of those questions I asked............:biglaugh:

7M rings can be used but you have to use the 2j muffler bearings. I think you can use the 2j shifter as the steering wheel and the 7M steering wheel to shift (maybe the other way around??)...

For anybody in the future who's seriously thinking about asking stupid questions, SEARCH!!!

J/K :sarcasm: I've asked hottscennessy and Yankiwi plenty of stupid questions during my swap :biglaugh:

I'll search driftmotion for the 2j muffler bearings. I have a brand new set of 7m bearings sitting in my floor beside my computer. I couldn't afford the titanium covered ones, but these should do. Thanks.

Damn, do I have to do everything for you?? Chrome Titanium Cryocarbon jdm Mufflerbearing

Remember, it's a 2jz so you only need 2 instead of 7. It is also guaranteed to get you laid which comes in handy for us married guys...

$15.00 for a get laid guarantee........I would have paid two hundred..........:naughty:

Thanks for the sticky IJ,......... I mean Mr. Ian.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but would it matter what 2jzge you use, i.e. JDM, USDM GS, USDM SC etc, because it seems like the wiring diagrams on supra.nl are for the jdm 2jz, but wouldnt it be easier to use a 2j from a usdm car, that way the ecu is already on the pass side, any info would be greatly appreciated
thanks
