Would the 2j headgasket fit a 1j with out problems?

If you have a brand new 1jz headgasket let me know a.s.a.p

It is my understanding that yes it will. I however do not have firsthand experience do this myself though.

The heads can be used on ethier engine (theres ofcourse debates about it's benefits), but logically in my thinking anyways this would also indicate that the gasket should be interchangable. Unless there is some factor such as thickness.

So I don't know myself but I can't imagine why it wouldn't.

IJ or some guru here would know without any doubts for sure though. And I would personally rely upon his opinion as fact on this.

Woody, are you offering yours to him for free or selling it? I have a new one also that I'm not using if he needs it.

I too have a stock thickness 1jz gasket.

But to answer the question, yes it fits. Just fine. Im using a 1.2mm Greddy mtela head gasket for a 2jz on my motor. It bolted and lined up just fine
