well I'll try and ask him...I'm hopping its under 500lbs

Thats hoping for a lot, it has an iron block, which doesn't help the weight factor. If I had to guess, and this is only a GUESS, I'd say closer to 800lbs.

Smaller motor, its only 2.5 liters ::dead horse::

So? It's not like it's you lost 2 cylinders or something. I don't think the difference in the crank and rods really would make it too much lighter or enough to raise your car up an inch.

It was a joke... I thought someone would LOL?

Im not exactly sure why, but it did make the front raise a bit due to being lighter.

It's because Homer's wife isn't in it....now that's a joke...LOL.:biglaugh:

my freight bill was 625 lbs with trans and ecu

thats what I thought....the tranny alone weighs around 120-125 lbs

so motor alone without turbo's(in my case) should be under 500lbs

how different is this motor? the block uses some of the same accessories , I believe the outer dimensions are the same except height of the block. the head is very similar dimensionally. I do not see much reason for more than 1 - 2 percent difference on the long block. The main weight difference here would be when you are comparing a turbo to non turbo engine. I would think 1jzgte almost equal to 2jzgte in weight. 1jzgte should be what ? 40 70 lbs heavier than the 2jzge?

I have to agree with joe and ToyoHabu.
I've taken apart 1kz and they are so much like the 2 it's scary. at absolute most, with the smaller turbos and shorter crank and maybe if there's a few pounds off the head and intake i think at MOST it could only be 40-50 lbs lighter than a 2j
