I'm trying to compare the 1jz-gte to the 2jz-gte for a swap into a 240sx. I've been researching for a long time, but I can't seem to find the weight of a 1jz longblock. I had click through all the "a lot", "boat anchor", and "not much more than the 1jz" to find that a 2jz-gte longblock weighs 524.7lbs without a fan or flywheel.

Also, what tranny is easy to find and mate to the 1jz if I want an auto with atleast 4 speeds? Same question for the 2jz. Does a mkiii a340e bolt to a 2jz, and does this thread apply to non-vvti?: How to mate a 7M A340 automatic to a 1JZ vvti engine

I hope my questions are relevant and general enough to not be moved to other cars... or to another forum (I trust you guys more with my supra-related questions :)).

The 1JZ and 2JZ, are very close in weight. I would think a lot of factors go into place. People that are running singles turbo's, twin turbo's.

I have a goal of 300whp, and after searching some more it looks like both engines with BPU could do that. So if I was keeping the stock twins, would that narrow the answer down?

iirc when I had my 1jz with r154 bolted on shipped to my house the shipping company said it was 750lb. I hope that helps
