I just got this car with a 1jz fully together and running after a long winter. Problem is it doesn't go into gear. The check engine light comes on when I put it into drive. Getting a code 13 which is cam sensor I beleive. Would this cause a transmission problem as I described?
The other thing I wonder about that may be the culprit; I did not get a 1jz Transmission computer (ect) and did not use the 1jz tranny. Are the 7m-gte and 1jz-gte ect the same? The tranny is basically identical. The car has the 7m-gte auto in it now as that is how it was swapped.
Anyone have any ideas or input to help?
