Alright, so I've been searching and searching, and I can't really find anything. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or a write up for installing an aftermarket stereo into a 1986.5? From what I've read, there's a difference between the wiring of a 1986.5 and a 1987. Also, the online TEWD is for a 1989. Can anyone help me out?

Why not just use a splice harness? All the wires will be labeled and you wont chop up your stereo harness. Also theres a car audio section.

I have a spare 86.5 harness if you don't wanna hack yours up. Or if you do wanna hack it up, you can always return it to stock when selling. I personally use Toyota's own 86.7 - 87+ wiring harness.

RazoE, is the stereo harness its own entity that plugs into the dash harness or is it all one harness? The previous owner on mine hacked the stereo harness all up instead of buying an adapter harness and it sucks haha.

Also, if the 86.5 is the same as the 87 (should be) and OP doesn't want it I'll take it :)

Nope. The 86.5 harness is different than the 87.
