I don't know what size turbo your running but I wouldn't trust the 20 year old fuel pump or for that matter even a new stock replacement fuel pump to keep with the flow rate needed to support a single with the 550's.

^ agreed, to support that much pressure, you need fuel. I wouldnt go above 10 or 12 psi on a single without at least a walbro. Im running 19 psi on a 70 trim with a walbro and 550's and i am maxing out my fuel at 493 rwhp...

If your Fuel Pump upgrade choice ends up being a Walbro, buy it from somewhere you can trust and read the section on fake Walbro's in the General MKIII Discussion section to educate yourself on identifying the real deal. The Chinese are copying everything these days.

I actually have a walbro already just not installed, and yes i have a aem wideband. the spring ended up being the wrong one. its only a 12psi spring. so no worries.

You need to put that Walbro in there! I bought mine already single'd and the dude had run it up to 17-18 psi on the stock turbo pump with 550s and told me he had tuned it. Before I put my Walbro on I checked the AFRs and it was running leaner than I liked at just 14+ psi! Pump could've been going out, but for all you know your pump could be on it's way out too.
