You wouldn't even need a metal frame. A few layers of carbon would be plenty stiff. Or even one layer of carbon with fiberglass layers underneath to cut cost.
Also, out of curiosity, do you know what the strength numbers of the titanium printed piece were?
Those stupid trim pieces behind the window. The tabs that hold the weird square bolt head are broken on one of mine and the other looks cracked and awful.
It's not something I desperately need since the paint is crap anyway, but maybe keep it on the radar.
Weird question, but are there any tricks to increasing airflow into the car with the windows down? It seems mostly stagnant and I don't have working AC...
Not sure how ghetto you're willing to go, but you could probably get a large washer, drill some holes in it, then put it on the end of that metal cap with some zipties threaded through the holes and around the mounting plate.
I'll get one tomorrow, weather permitting. Looking at it last night it appears to be a rubber stopper capped by some metal. Behind that I couldn't see, but felt like something was behind the rubber.
I'm glad you made this thread though. I didn't realize how loose it was till I looked last night.
Gonna remember some of these things for the next time I buy a car. Good eye. I'm not familiar with 7Ms, but the air filter and exhaust didn't exactly scream 73-year-old to me.
I've been burned in the past. Bought a shell that supposedly had no rust. I didn't take a magnet to the rocker panels...
Put in a boost controller. Seeing 14-15psi on the gauge now. Was only able to pull through second gear, but getting 12ish AFR. Think I found the stock 1JZ injector limit for my HX35.
Hope this helps. It's called "combination meter" in the manual.
The pics won't upload in super high quality, but I can clarify the wire colors if you can't read them.
Put in a new brake master cylinder. Fixed the brake issues I've been having for 2.5 years...
If only the paint reflected how many new parts are actually in the car.
