I bought the Ebay silicone hose set a couple years ago and they've been working fine for the last 12k+ miles. There were a couple random fit issues with some of the small hoses, but I was able to get everything to work.
If Toyota doesn't have one, they're $2/ bolt on Mcmaster for a 20mm long one. Just cut it to size if needed:

Also, make sure your TPS is working correctly. I recently had a similar issue and a new TPS tuned properly solved it. The old TPS wouldn't return completely when the throttle was closed and therefore wasn't giving an IDL signal to the ECU. This problem didn't throw any codes for me either, so...
You can also go to any power sports place that carries Yamaha stuff. The local shop near me will exchange them out for free, as in you trade yours for the one you need.
I'm actually running a setup identical to what kaiser is describing and I haven't had any issues with overheating while offroading. I am, however, mainly slow speed rock crawling, so I'm not really ever making a lot of boost. I've been snow wheeling a couple times this winter though and didn't...
Turbo pistons are dished to add more volume to the combustion chamber size at TDC. Bore/stroke are the same, so they displace them same, but the volume of air at TDC for the turbo version is larger than the N/A version. This makes the compression ratio lower and, in this case, the cranking...
In the check connector, its the IG- terminal. For a more direct route, the black IG- wire coming off of the igniter is where the signal comes from. It goes directly from here to both the check connector and the tachometer, no where else. If you have corroded wires or connectors, I could see...
You could run a test wire from the diagnostic plug straight to the plug on the back of the gauge cluster. That might at least eliminate a bad connection somewhere. I'm modifying my stock tach in a toyota pickup (swapped 7mgte to replace the old 4cyl) with a potentiometer across the M+ and M-...
Give Marlin Crawler a call, those guys rebuild R-series transmissions all the time and that is also where the kit comes from that Driftmotion sells.

The toyota trucks used to come with solid spacers back in the late 70's/ early 80's, then they went to the crush sleeves. I actually had a crush sleeve fail in a truck diff with 5.29 gears and big tires. It eventually pulled the pinion further into the diff and just trashed everything in there...
I've got a brand new standard set of Probes that I'll sell you for 400 shipped. One of my cylinders ended up being slightly too much out of round and I decided to go to .020" over instead. PM me if you're interested.
Probe's website shows dished pistons and the ones I ordered were dished. The picture on Driftmotion's website must just be a general picture. I'm wondering how much longer Aaron will be carrying Probes, sounds like they have had a lot of problems with getting product in on time recently. I'd...
You are talking about the mechanical speed sensor on the back of the transmission that drives the speedometer cable, correct? (R154 setup). The pickup cruise ECU gets its speed signal from the gauge cluster, which I think is similar to how the supra is set up.
I would bet that the speed...
I've been doing a little research on this and I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out. My question is, is there any difference in the cruise control system between the N/A and turbo motors to compensate for boost?
I'm swapping a 7mgte into a pickup and I'm trying to keep my...
Sweet! Nice pictures.
Can you measure the shaft length, un-splined shaft diameter, spline count, and spline cut length of the input shaft? Also, the input shaft length measured from the bellhousing/transmission mating surface to the end of the shaft (motor side). I'm trying to get a good...
I've also heard the same thing and plan on doing it in a few months. From what I've read, the r154 bellhousing can be bolted to the '96+ tacoma r150 with a .25" bellhousing spacer. The input shaft is supposedly .25" longer on the tacoma r150 than the supra r154. Can someone measure their r154...
