Thanks, sorry I have never really had anything I thought was worth posting pictures of until I joined this site so I'm a bit of a newb. Just got off work, should know where I sit with the bellhousing situation in a bit. I'm tryin not to get my hopes up to much cause it really couldn't be this...
Update~
Got the motor to my house today. Probably won't have the time to work on it much till Monday. If I get time ill unbolt my r154 from the bellhousing to see how well, if at all, the bellhousing bolts up. If it does we move right along to fabing mounts, if it doesn't work then I have to...
The 3.0 is the 3vz-fe. Which i think would be harder to put in. I've had and mk2 mr2 with one in my backyard for about a month while a buddy of mine finished up his swap. See my problem is I'm the only supra owner around a few mr2s. I've tried searching for 5vz stuff but not 3vz.
Well I'm glad to see the interest in it. I do plan to go standalone. We've been pitching around the idea of giving a few different setups a shot. As between my friends and i we have a quit a few turbos sitting around waiting for some fun stuff to do. It will be mid summer before I can get the...
Also its going into an 89 turbo mk3. I don't really trust my 7m enough to put anymore money into it and as the 5v is everywhere in alabama I figure why the hell not.

Measurements are 26 inches wide 20 inches long 30 inches high from oil pan up. I've read about the bellhousing stuff from the tacoma and 4runner guys and its available for the r154 trans. Power goals are unsure as id like to get it tunning na and take it out from there. I don't have an unlimited...
So a friend of mine has a nice 5vz he doesn't need anymore. It'd be free to me. I've got a friend that's got a lot of experience in fabing mounts and such. he's into mr2s and is a huge fan of toyota v6 motors. He's currently working on a tt 3vz and thinks a tt 5v would be worth doing. I actually...
I seem to have neglected to update. We finally got into our new place so I finally got the time to actually accomplish something. Pics to come when I feel like it worth showing. Turns out it does not have a blown head gasket. I've ordered front and rear main seals, a new water pump, a bunch of...
Also the turbos blown, but a friend of mine gave me a spare one he had bought for an mr2 project, so free ct26 for me!

So I got the car pulled into the garage at about 1 and worked till just now. Was gonna compression test it but when I pulled the spark plug out of cylinder 1 it shot oil and the spark plug was completely soaked in oil. So I just started pullin the motor. My phone was about to die most of the day...
Hey guys, my names spencer. I live in athens Al right outside of Huntsville, and I'm lookin for a good machine shop. We have a few in Athens but I've heard bad things out of all of them, and honestly I don't wanna risk having something else messed up with my mk3. I have enough work as it is. So...
Yeah there's a couple in my area but only one that I've never heard anything bad about. I'm not sure if they've had much work with toyotas though. Idk anyone around here that even owns a supra much less anyone to recommend a machine shop experienced with these motors. I'm not gonna rush though...
Ok so my "reliable friends" once again backed out after they called me offering to help. So bodys dead last. I'm gonna sand and primer slightly rusty area on the quarter panel and leave it at that. Motor will be pulled in the next week or so as my best friend has graciously decided to pull his...
Now if I'm sending the block off anyway is it worth it to just go with a mhg since I'm just kinda building it for stock power levels. Also do you have a particulair brand of bearings you would recomend? I figure if I'm going through the effort of breaking it all down I might as well rebuild it...
I found one 86 in a new lkq in huntsville. But their kinda scarce here ,or atleast I don't see them around very often. I haven't checked any of the yards closer to birmingham or nashville though.

Supraguy you literally just answered every question I had to ask before I ordered my stuff. Thanks a ton. Will I need to have the block worked do you think?

Yeah the crazy thing is this car was pretty much abandoned, the previous owner called the towe place and never came back and when they finally got in touch with them they told em to junk it. I said f that lol

Yeah I'm actually not lookin for much as far as power is concerned stock boost and a tasteful bolt ons is enough for me so as rebuilds go its more to make it reliable. No huge turbos or major internal mods yet. Any advice on head gaskets? We have a local shop I've heard a lot of good things...
