would love to hear an update of the cam comparison. I'm also looking to build my 7mgte at 9:1, what did you do to achieve this/ verify compression ratio? I'm planning on 83.5mm bore, NPR gte pistons, appropriate mhg thickness based on how much was machined off block and head.
I'm saying if a 20g or big 16g compressor wheel was put into a ct26, just like they do with the t4 wheels. How would it compare to say the 57 trim wheel in a ct26?
Kinda wondering about this setup too, vs a 57 trim ct26. Seems like its the big 16g compressor wheel put in a ct26. Wonder how the big 16g wheel would perform vs the 57 trim in a ct26 with everything else being equal?
Excited to see all the fruit of your labor 3p (and whoever else helped along the way). Curious to find out what electronics and tuning experience will be required to use the system you are developing (hardware and tuning software). Will this be similar to NIStune or Hondata? For those of us that...
Not sure if anyone has seen the Kinugawa ct26 60-1 turbo, Might be a better alternative to the Cx Racing one. Has a 1yr warranty. Here's a link to it at the manufactures website: http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawaturbochargertoyotasupra3sgte7mgtect26upgradewgarrett60-1450p-1.aspx

ok so I found some info on the truck flywheel, and its quite a bit thicker overall so I dont think it'll work. Looking at the 1mzfe flyweel off a Solara or camry looks promising though...
How about thoughts on redrilling a 7mge flywheel?
Why's it so hard to find a 2jzge flywheel? they came in 3 different model cars (is300, sc300, supra) you'd think you could get a stock replacement at your local parts store ordered but it doesn't even seem like you can find one used.
I was looking at some way to get an inxpensive 2jzge (w58/55) flywheel and noticed that the Toyota line of trucks have a flywheel that closely resembles the 2jzge flywheel. It has 8 mounting holes (look the same pattern) and is the same diameter and it looks like the pressure plate mounting stud...
I am definitely staying tuned, been following for over a year now. I would love the ability to have a fully tune-able factory ECU. I love learning new things and tinkering and am pretty capable of doing most things myself as long as I have the tools and some guidance which brings about a...
good luck man, like they all say fast, cheap, reliable: pick 2. Don't go in over your head, and try not to get too power hungry if you don't have a decent budget to get it done right. In my experience most worthwhile upgrades require more than one piece so plan on collecting all the pieces and...
yeah crank snout was the problem, i would just go with a custom crank pulley or get a 7m crank destroked. I don't think 85mm overboring would be that big of an issue considering HKS make 85 and 86mm pistons for the 7m way back when as Moy stated.
Hey guys I was reading about someone doing a destroked 7m using a 5m crankshaft and some crazy rare 85mm pistons to make a square 7m. It was a NA build and it didnt last too long but it got me wondering if it could be somewhat feasible to drop in a stock piston from another engine that is 85mm...
