Anyone here know of any 7m experienced machine shops up here in northwest fl? I'm located not to far from Panama City Beach, FL. I just want a to check the RA of my block and head, generally just make sure everythings G2G before my engines assembly.
I'm in the process of tearing down my ct26 for rebuilding and I can't get the dang turbine housing off I have tried every suggestion in MDCmotorsports rebuild thread for hours and no dice. anyone know another trick? :1zhelp:
thank you for the info. I wouldn't have posted the question if I had found it in my searches on this site and google. thats why i'm still a lurker I don't post much because I usually find my answer with a search. anyways thanks again.
I guess I'll drill out the 2 smaller ports with a 7/16'' bit and re tap them for 1/4npt. then just use a 12mmx1.5 to -6an adapter for the larger port for the regulator out.
I figured I would ask this here since it's not a technical question. does any one here rent out a lapping plate to do the block and heads? I'm sure I would only have to use it once, so I'm not looking to buy one that is if I don't have to. :1zhelp:
Does getting a new set of stock cast pistons require a rebalance? I'm rebuilding a 7m and I had the crank ground, rods re-sized w/arp hardware. the bore has very minimal wear so my machinist just honed the block. the pistons I received in the rebuild kit look exactly like the old ones just new...

ok, I did not have the pleasure of pulling it apart(just putting it back together) or I would have noted what was in there. its not the original motor to the car though. is there anyway to tell when the block was made to make sure it's pre 89 so I have piece of mind that its suppose to have 6m...
I'm currently fixing a rod knock issue on a friends 7mge-t. I sent the crank off to the machine shop to get cut(.010 mains and rod), and the rods to get reconditioned with arp bolts. Well I pick the stuff up and when I get back to the shop I noticed the crank says 6m on it, now before I get...
the name is Steve, I have been lurking and searching threads here because I started a new build. I'm putting a 7m into my 89 toyota pickup. this is my first import build but I'm not new to the game of engine building or racing. I work at a machine shop that caters for the most part to high...
