    I'm not sure if that was aimed at me or the OP. I am aware of that. The person in reference had everything hooked up like stock, and needed a vented cap. I think something else was wrong and that's a band-aid for his underlying problem.

    You would use the TPS/Map blend feature. (Pretty simple setup actually) And with their setup wizard (allows for race cams/ ITB's) start up is stupid easy. (I have worked with Electromotive stuff for a bit now and love it! A Tec GT will make it's way onto my MKIII.) Awesome build OP.

    SBC/LS1 with R154, anyone done it?

    The first generation SSR's came with the all aluminum 5.3L if I remember correctly. Not too sure what vehicle has the 5.3L Alum engine besides that. Personally I prefer an cast iron block over all aluminum. I know I am going to be beating the ever living piss out of the engine.

    You do not have to go with a full LS1/2/3/6 engine. The truck engines such as LQ4/LQ9/LM7 are readily available and are way cheaper than the LS1's and so forth. Same style engine, heads, mounts, intake manifold, etc that all swap over. The LM7 comes in a 4.8/5.3L so make sure you get the bigger...

    This. I think what we are all getting at is basic maintenance items. I would deff do a fuel filter and check all the bushing, ball joints, etc... If it is in question replace it (within reason of course.)

    Would rather see LSx based stuff in it but cool swap none the less. If you want to stay carb but get rid of the dizzy I would look into the Electromotive XDI-II unit. Full standalone Distributorless ignition with the sky as your limit. Or if you want full standalone EFI they can do that as well.
