car runs badly after putting in different gas.

I run my car on 94 octane in canada, but I couldn't find any here in eastern washington so I put in $15 of 92. i figured it would be fine as long as i didn't boost, but it just backfired and went really slow, stumbled, bogged, and my wideband read like 10 and under if i tried to accelerate...

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

lexus afm and 550s are so you CAN run more boost, but the wastegate should still control boost. the 57 trim, pipes and exhaust can cause creep, (more flow and a more aggressive turbo), but WITH all that it didn't creep past 10 UNTILL the previous owner installed the ddp instead of the 3"...

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

the previous owner had stock boost, then installed the ddp, then started hitting fuel cut.

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

57 trim. i'm not saying all ddps cause boost creep but i think the cause of my creep is the dp because the previous owner didn't hit fuel cut till he installed it. at the moment i'm not trying to run double the stock flow rate, i'm trying to to run stock boost. i haven't got a boost controller...

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

I have a lexus maf, afc and 550s, upgrading to a 320 lph pump and fpr to enrich my mixture but untill then I am not comfortable running 15 psi, and my creep is more like 17psi, which is too much. if the ddp causes boost creep then maybe the +30whp is from increased boost. either way i don't want...

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

I appreciate your replies however it is my understanding that A)a 3" exhaust with internal wastegate only becomes restrictive well above 400HP, at wich point the stock turbo isn't enough anyways and B) suprarx7nut sick photos but racecars are a different game and it looks like that ddp has a...

    BIC Divorced Downpipe

I honestly don't get the point of the BIC ddp, since you can flow more horsepower thru a normal 3" down pipe than the stock turbo is good For, what's the point? and the Wastegate passage isn't even big enough, so you boost creep and hit fuel cut or blow the motor if you install one. someone...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

put on the intake manifold, new timing belt, and installed cams (slapped on a GE intake cam for some torque gains maybe?) And... A little bit of rice. One of the bolts that held in the gas pedal broke some time ago, so I drilled and tapped the hole for a new bolt, and while I was down...

Trouble with Crankshaft pully bolt removal

i used a torch and penetrating fluid and an impact and it didn't work, 2 days later tried again and it worked, i suppose i just had to be patient, thanks for the input, i'm stoked cuz it looks like i can put my motor together now without worrying about a timing belt that was rubbing against a...

Trouble with Crankshaft pully bolt removal

my idler pulley seized so my old timing belt is pretty worn, cracked, and just generally fucked. i've been trying to get the crankshaft pully that drives the water pump and alternator, ect. off to get the bottom timing cover off and remove the worn belt, but the bolt on the crankshaft pulley is...

    Head Gasket Replacement!

how would foreign objects make it past the honey comb metal stuff in the maf? maybe pull your air filter off and see if the maf is all banged up. i'm working on a head gasket replacement, but my cam journals are not smooth, i have another head but it isn't ported, i'm also trying to figure...

New to this site, first question

removing the head for the first time is a large undertaking, if you work or go to school be prepared to spend most of your weekends on the motor for the nest couple weeks. this is coming from some one with limited mechanical experience who has just removed his head.
