    Late-89 7mge to 7mgte Wiring Q's

Did you figure out what the mystery plug near the fuse box was? I can't remember if I had it plugged in when I last removed the engine. My wiring harness yellow plug that looks very similar does not fit to the body's grey plug, and I can't remember if I had it unplugged or I'm missing...

    Quarter panel repair advice

Started the body work, and first thing I found was a bunch of bondo covering the driver's quarter panel. Most of I think I can work out, but the lip area directly above the wheel is pushed in. There are two pieces of metal (wheelhouse connected to quarter panel) so I can get it out from the...

    No fuel - fuel pump?

This is a new GTE swap into a GE car. About 1 week ago, it started and ran fine. Since, I replaced the evaporator, mounted the ecu (disconnecting and reconnecting the harness in the process), and straightened some wiring. Now, there is no fuel pressure at the rail, and no leaks. If I...

identify this part - drivers side inner fender

Mounted on the drivers inner fender is a silver box with a round yellow connector that connects to the engine harness. What is this? The stock boost pressure sender (on turbos) is on the same mount with it. I'll snap a pic tonight if this doesn't make sense. Thanks in advance. Don

    sp61gt - rebuild or replace

OK - thanks guys. I'll talk to SP, although it seems like I've heard some things lately where they were very slow. I found a number of good recommendations for Evergreen turbo in Ocala FL, which is just an hour and a half from me. Might see what they can do as well. Thanks, Don

    sp61gt - rebuild or replace

Checked the shaft play on my sp61gt bolt on last night, and sure enough, lots of side to side play (didn't notice and fore to aft). Burns lots of oil, won't boost past 10psi, just started whining. I think the damage was done by my greddy type R BOV not releasing properly, but I seem to...

OK - cool. That should be easy enough to change over.

    87 gte into 89 ge

OK - thanks. I guess I'll find out Fri when I pick up the car. I thought I remembered all the ecu connections being from the engine wiring harness. What systems connect to the body? My choices I guess are: 1) change plugs on body harness to match my ecu/engine harness. 2) replace 89+...

    87 gte into 89 ge

Hi Guys. About to purchase an 89NA to replace my totalled 87T (rear-ended). I'm swapping the engine, engine wiring harness, transmission, ecu, and other turbo specific parts. Are there any connections from the engine harness to body harness? I don't remember any. Any other gotchas...

replacing clutch 'n stuff - pull engine?

I found Autozone listed one for $50 (plus $50 core charge) but it wasn't avaliable. I couldn't find anyone else. Went ahead and ordered a Fidanza with the SB OFE Street clutch kit from SupraSport. I'll see how it goes. Ordered new flywheel bolts and seals (rear main, crank, oil pump, and...

    where to buy flywheel (stock?)

OK - thanks, guys. Lots of places have clutch kits, and Autozone has a stock flywheel listed at $100 with $50 core (net $50), but is unavailable. I though SOMEONE else would have them. Anyway, just ordered the Fidanza flywheel and SB OFE street clutch kit from SupraSport.

replacing clutch 'n stuff - pull engine?

yea - it's not usable. I really didn't want to put it on last time, but since I rarely drive the car, and I just wanted to test out the new engine and turbo, i threw it on anyway knowing I'd be doing a clutch soon.

replacing clutch 'n stuff - pull engine?

Thanks again for all the help guys. Bought the 800lb transmission jack at the local harbor freight last night - about $130, I think. I've picked out the South Bend full face feramic clutch kit (advertised to 520tq) and am trying to decide on a new flywheel to go with it. I'd like to pick up...
