how can i tell if the floater is faulty or not working properly? my gas gauge sometimes drops to E (even at full tank) and sits there, but i had just filled it up and then sometimes it would fix itself... what would be the cause? if it's the floater how do i diagnosis it? thanks

hey guys, i don't know if this a big prob or not, but when warming up the car the idle goes up to about 1500rpm almost 2k...but idles off at around just a little bit above 1k... now when i give full throttle and drive it a bit on the highway or so it'll drop to around 650 or so and dip to 500...
