I got my engine back together....and I'm wondering what the maximum limit is, for piston protusion past the deck. I'm already pissed off at Napa for doing such a bang up job with my block....and having to find another machine shop to fix there mistakes. I'd hate to find out they shaved too...

The head was decked at the same shop the block was done at the first time, but the head came out alot smoother. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.

So, do you think that surface is too coarse? How smooth should it be? Should I be able to see my reflection or what? lol Do you have any values I can give to the machinist??

I bought the HKS 1.2mm MHG.

It doesn't catch, but u can feel mini ridges in the surface. Sort of like what you'd feel if you ran your finger across a peice of nylon. EDIT: Some pictures:

So I've been reading and searching, and i still haven't seen any values or pictures, what a properly decked block should look like. I got mine back, and it seems a bit rough. Pictures and/or specs would be great!
