Hey guys, just a quick question. . .should the egr vsv NOT allow any air to pass through when the car is turned off? I was told that it should not but I am not sure. I was testing my system for any leaks and have found several small ones due to old hoses and bad old clamps. I noticed air is also...
So I did another pressure test and it seems as though air is leaking out around two injectors like crazy. . .I would imagine that I can just replace the o-rings and hopefully i'll have no more air leaking
If I pressurize the system (like I am doing) w/the car off should the vsv be closed. . .not allowing air to pass through to the egr system? I realize I have a vacuum leak that I will need to fix, but should the vsv be open and allowing air to pass through or not?
I made a boost leak tester today and hooked it to the turbo and went to pressurize the system, I blocked off all of the hoses that go to the accordian hose but needed to see if there are any other hoses that I need to block off or unhook in order to perform a test correctly.
I hear air coming...
Hmm. . .well can anyone verify either way or give any other suggestions? I really wanna get the supra back on the road but I'm not quite sure if I need to replace the TPS or something else or check something else. . .
OK, my car doesn't have tems but I jumpered the connector, turned the key on and I had a nonstop quick blink of the CEL. . .just kept going. Anyone got a clue on that? Also, I slowly depressed the throttle and somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle I got a 51 code.
So I guess I'm looking at...
Hey, I posted a while back about a problem I had w/my supra. . .basically if I am driving down the street or rev the car anything above about 2k RPMs and then just let off the gas the car will die. It runs fine if I keep it going by giving it gas, but if not it will die. I was told a few things...
yeah i used screwdrivers to pull the crankshaft pulley off of my old 240, but i figured since i actually have the puller laying around I may as well make use of it
hey guys, i need to get the crankshaft pulley off and have a puller, just dont have the right size bolts to use, anyone know what size/thread bolts i need to thread into the pulley?
Basically, when I'm drivin my car if I get it up to about 3k rpms or more and then push in the clutch start to slow down the rpms will dip very low or car will die if i don't give it a little gas. Anyone know what could be causing this? Also, my idle is a bit low, about 700rpms
So I'm coming home from work yesterday and I pull up behind some cars and am waiting at this stop sign, I'm sitting there playing with the clutch (rolling back and forth) and all of a sudden my car dies. . .well that sucks, so I go to start it back up and it cranks for a few seconds and nothing...
