I got an old Dell Latitude D400 for 10 bucks. It's banged up a little bit, the battery doesn't last long, etc.

Is it worth restoring it? It's a hell of a lot lighter than my current laptop so I think it has some use if I restore it (which shouldn't be too expensive).

i think u should sell it to be for 10 bucks ;) hehe
but seriously...i think it'd be worth "restoring" depending on what you would use it for.

Oh yeah, forgot to post the usage.

It's just going to be used for basic stuff, like internet/word processing. No games at all. No photoshop/autocad/etc.

Well I haven't looked into it too much, but I think it has an Intel Pentium M processor, 1.6 or 1.8 ghz, and I think it has around 40-80 GB hard drive. Yeah, the details are vague, but I just want to know if other components of it will fail (since the laptop has been used since 2003)

yea def. worth it. i'd say, especially for wat u paid for it...i've spent $10 on nothing heh

You can easily clean it up, an ebay battery, a good new charging wire with a strong transformer, and just physically clean it. open the ram and hdd port and use a little vacuum if it's dusty or just compressed air it out.

10 bux is an amazing deal.

Ram is like 30 bucks nowadays as well so if necessary youre good.
