do the knock sensors on a 7mgte connect together in the harness or are they seperate all the way to the ecu? i'm trying to replace the rear one with new wiring (previous owner had cut and rewired it 6 times!)

Oops. On my car they're different colors. On yours they may be the same:

You could always gain access to the ECU connector and measure to see which one is giving you grief. Member Shaef on here sells a rewire kit that might make your life easier. Myself on the few I've done I remove the harness and open it up. More work but I tend to be anal.
