Hey guys. My hatch glass was destroyed a few weeks ago and I've turned myself in knots trying to find a replacement. The nearest replacement on car-part.com is something like 300 miles away. Even that's not a given, every time I've called a yard that supposedly has a window, it's either 1)...
Was cruising car-part.com looking for some hatch glass when I stumbled on this: A 1991 Turbo 5 spd Targa with shaved side moldings. I don't spend a lot of time here anymore, but 5 years ago people would kill for this, and now it's junkyard fodder. WTF guys...
My steering intermediate shaft has been disconnected for a while now. I had it off to drop my crossmember. It has now fused itself in the fully collapsed position.
Is there a trick to coaxing the turtle out of its shell?
Thought you guys would appreciate this story off TTAC:
Shakken Up: How A Little American Persistance And One Little, Old Japanese Man Beat The System

I was just given a 1990 Supra non-turbo, targa, with the white package. It has 205,000 miles. The body's straight, it runs good, but it's getting a bit rough around the edges.
The question is, now what? I already have a project Supra.
My driver is a 2005 Saab 9-2x, running 20+ psi.
What wouldn't you give for a little more displacement out of the 7M? Or even a 2JZ for that matter? Wouldn't it be sweet if -intead of the V6s- Toyota came out with a 3JZ? And while we're dreaming, how about an aluminum block to keep weight down? And a bellhousing that mates up to a R154...
Is anybody here interested in the Solstice trans? In my thread it seems like the only reservations were
1) Torque capacity
and
2) Custom shifter housing
Item one was resolved when Mallet put a V8 in front of the Solstice trans.
Does that mean that #2 is the only hold-up...
Anybody know about the R155 transmission in newer tacomas? Looks like an evolution of the R150, as 2-4 gears are the same ratio. This could be an honest Toyota version of the Aisin AR5.
Some of you may remember us talking about AR5 transmissions. The AR5 is the latest Aisin design based heavily on the R154. The case is essentially the same and bellhousings interchange. The AR5 is available in a variety of currrent product and offers triple cone synchros on first through...
Anybody thought about it? I think this is the most important IC technology since variable valve timing. Here's a pic of how Lexus does it. Looks like they just bore into the block. Could probably use old diesel parts for the injectors, pump, etc.
Woohoo, I finally found a good deal on an Isuzu AR5 transmission! The plan is to swap my supra bell and tail housing and run a GM clutch disk.
I can't wait to see how my supra will feel with triple cone synchronizers!
I just read all of the thread "Using JZ's igniter in 7M-GTE".
No comment on all that, other than it was bitch to read the entire thing without getting anything answered.
Anyway, the reason that DLI won't fire COP is that current will take the path of least resistance - in this case - the...
We have some bright people here, I bet we could pull this off. Let's talk about feasibility. I think the biggest hurdle would be finding an affordable battery pack (can't get them at the junkyard). A starter/generator shouldn't be a problem. I think I could fake a controller.
Who's in...
