    How do I clock a ct-12?

I finally installed these rebuilt/upgraded ct12s I got from driftmotion and the intake pipes (and more noticably the hot pipes) don't line up very well. one of the turbos compressor housings must be about 3-5 degrees out of rotation. I pulled the snap ring off the front turbo in hopes that...

    metal o-ring in 1jz-gte non-vvti exhaust manifolds - removal / replacement?

Hi I have a spare pair of 1JZ stock twin exhaust manifolds, and I want to pull the o-rings in the grooves on the turbo side out so I can have the manifolds shot blasted/ceramic coated. Are these things even meant to be removed? If so, how do I? Are there replacements anywhere? Mike

DM upgraded 1JZ ct12a pictures ... no dyno, yet.

This got delivered last Monday. I requested the housings get treated with black thermal coating in addition to all the work normally offered. Apologies for the sub par camera. Unfortunately I have to pull my motor out to address an oil leak at the back of the engine (either crank...

Speed signal to ECU in a car with electric speed sensor? Looking for tips.

Hi I have a 1JZ-GTE with oem electronics, and a transmission from a chevy colorado (Aisin MA-5, AR5, whatever you want to call it) which has a 2 wire vehicle speed sensor. I was planning to get an adjustable electric speedometer, something like this...

need JZX90 1JZ-GTE Body plug pinouts!

Can anyone point me toward a complete wiring diagram (TEWD?) for the JZX90 or maybe just pinouts for those specific connectors? I'm struggling coming up with any useful info. I think the one I have a wire sticking into is sort of like our B1 body plug. That pin goes to the starter solenoid...

Head stud surface mods. (Totally hypothetical, don't be mad)

So, I've seen a few people building 7M heads machine out the stud hole to press in a heavy duty washer. The idea is that having a harder landing under the head stud nut prevents the aluminum from softening/collapsing and causing a lack of tension on the head. My question is: Is it really...

    Oil T-stat question

So, I know generally that an oil thermostat redirects flow from a "bypass path" to the cooler path as it heats up. Here's the question: When the thermostat is closed off cold, is the oil cooler still under pressure? (Is it still connected at the cooler exit to the engine oil when the...

MKIII camber... trying to debunk this "mkiii supra suspension sucks" myth

Hi, there's this guy on the local car forums who linked to that blog post about MKIII Supras being garbage.. It's got the picture of that airborne rally MKIII with wheels extended so far that the camber has gone negative (due to the short upper and long lower arm) My car has coilovers, and...

Bolt sizes for JZ block to bellhousing

Anyone know off the top of their head what bolts I need to mate the bellhousing to my 1JZ. Neither the engine or bellhousing I have came with them. I'd get off my ass and check myself but the cars in another state.

    vintage toyota!

Hey guys, I got a hold of a really old toyota, I mean oooold, and it's still in great shape. It's been indoors for most of it's life so nothings really had a chance to corrode. It's not a Supra but there's a lot of knowledgable people here so I figured you could help me in picking out...

    Miekedmr's build thread

A long time ago I started this thread, and it had some pictures of my dads new (at the time) garage floor, and of a junkyard 1uz-fe I picked up which mysteriously had a hole through part of the block. There were pictures of the chevy colorado AR5 trans, and there were pictures of the body I was...

    suspension adjustment bolts

(the bolts that let you adjust camber and toe-in.) for someone who has ordered them before, do I have this right? there are 2 separate types of adjustment bolts in the front, so I need to order 2 of each type. there is only one kind in the rear subframe, so I need to order 4 of them.

    I sold my rims.. :(

16x7 konig wildcards, they came on my original supra. the wheels alone made it worth it. I'm sad to get rid of them, but I knew I'd be putting on a bigger wheel and my friend with a 6th gen celica (who was actually the previous owner of the supra) was in need of a nice set of wheels. They fit...

    My subframe

I'm not a very good welder.. but hey. My original rear subframe wasn't cracked, but it was corroded almost to the point of nonexistence, so I got one on car-part from south carolina. That one was in a lot better shape, but had cracks in the usual area on the front back and underside. I cut open...

    Dual oil filter mounts

Is it worth it to get the dual filter mount with a filter relocation kit? What are your opinions? They work in parallel to reduce the amount of oil that gets bypassed, right?
