sounds to me like the turbo is blown. my 1j started smoking to, did a compression test and the numbers were very similar to yours, actually if i remember correct my number 5 was also around 135. I ended putting a good set of twins back on an no more smoke. the car still pulls hard.

I did this in the summer, i followed the tsrm step by step it shows you exactly were to put the locking balls. you drop them in the intermediate plate between installing the shafts.
