New Guy - DeSloths Aussie MA70 Project (56k Warning)

More updates! I was down a few days due to work and study, but back in business as of today :) New badge ordered. Nothing drastic wrong with the old one, but it had a few stratches and was cheap enough to replace. I got a paint gun stand for 9 bucks. It is actually really nice and sturdy...

New Guy - DeSloths Aussie MA70 Project (56k Warning)

Haha holy crap, thanks man. Your car is one of the hottest A70's I have seen, ever!. :aigo: The fact your did so much of it youself was quite inspiring. :) Finially made it to the paint shop this afternoon, and picked up what seems to be a well built but cheap enough HVLP spray gun...

How much cost the under tray?

I have thought about fabricating my own out of aluminium also. Obviously my car was missing this part when I purchased it, and I have never seen one on another A70. It would be handy to see a picture of an OEM item to help with determining mount points etc.

Haha thanks guys. I am not fussed on colour, but I don't mind the silver. It doesn't look half bad, and isn't too much work to maintain. Black wins though. :) I have been trying to accomplish something each day - even if it is only little. I cracked the craps with paint today so did...

Hi guys and gals. Some more progress, but rough day and lacking motivation. I am not feeling the paint prep love. Car is pretty bare considering the small amount of paint it is getting. Here are a few more pictures, including my ghetto paint setup.

Past midnight here, I'm bored and can't sleep so adding some more pictures. At this point it looks like I will be painting the following panels (in addition to the trim): Headlight covers x 2 Mirrors x 2 RHS spoiler Nose Cone Front Bumper Rear Bumper Hood. Eeek. :o If I bugger...

Thanks guys :) Couldn't help but notice you both have some rather pretty silver A70's in your sigs. A big part of me wanted a Targa... but I guess a hardtop is ok. Anyway I have a few updates. I have 'mid-semester' 'break' starting Monday (work rostered me for the week without asking...

    Really Wild looking Scandinavian MKIII

I'm not a massive fan, but you can't argue with the amoung of money and skill which has gone into the car. The bonnet (sorry - hood :) though, eek.

New Guy - DeSloths Aussie MA70 Project (56k Warning)

Hi guys, just thought I would update this thread :) I had pretty much forgotten all about my lovely TRD shift knob. Paid for weeks ago but it hasn't turned up. A little bit of progress has been made. Polished up my taillights and centre garnish tonight and continued on the mouldings...

Cool, I just wondered is all. You seem to know your A70 supras :aigo: In project related news, I haven't had so much as a spare minute to work on the poor supra. Until today that is! Got an afternoons reprieve from assignments, exams and work so finished off the boot. Picked up the carpet...

    college of engineering

So you are planning to rely 100% on software packages, with little to no understanding of what is driving them? I thought some of the maths learned in 1st and 2nd year Engineering was silly - until much more advanced dynamics and design courses demanded I use it! :aigo: If it wasn't...

    Bluechulappa's 89Turbo restoration

I got my boots from the same guy and was totally pumped with the quality and ease of transaction. That said, my car is RHD and I got a RHD boot. I think I specified the type and colour when I ordered though. The set pictured is LHD.... Postage wasn't all that much if it has to be returned-...

    Code Locks

Whaaaa..... ?? No no. I wasn't talking about alarms. The RFID tag holds the 'code', and only once that code has been read can the car be started. Some possible scenarios: 1) Person gets into car with correct RFID tag in their pocket. 2) RFID reader unit thingy in car sends out...

    Code Locks

Why not use an RFID setup? Could start your car with a simple push button so long as the person in the car has a programmed key-fob on their person. No need for a key, and all but the most clued-up theives would be left wondering what the hell is going on. They are also dirt cheap and...

Yes Indeedy. I am trying to complete a mech. eng. degree - so this obviously eats up a lot of my time and money. I should have a lot more of both in the next few years. Do you ever post on the Aussie forums IJ? These boards kill it as a resource, but just wondered. In other news -...

Non SI makes me cry :icon_evil But yep - 240 rwhp. Not much when compared to the monsters lurking on these forums, but plenty enough for now. lol, I'll tell it that. It's sitting half naked and neglected in my driveway at the moment. Thanks, though. :icon_bigg

Hi Guys - DeSloths Downunder MA70

I will actually have to check up on the rims. They were on the car when purchased, as lame as that sounds.

New Guy - DeSloths Aussie MA70 Project (56k Warning)

Orange Side indicator lenses are destroyed in changing them to clear. The back housing is re-used, and the lense replaced with clear. Front signals have crazy demand in AUS, so will keep that sale local. I have a few more quick pics. Uni has gotten a bit intense so progress has stalled...
