    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

Thanks, all! Let's see here... $900 for the engine and all acessories. I built the mounts with about $50 worth of metal. Ditto the oil pan. Spent $200 on a core engine for test fitment. $500 for HPTuners software. $150 for the clutch. $300 for the flywheel. It all adds up to about...

    Can you identify this piece?

Good lord, man, I saw the pic and assumed he was about to send his crank pulley through the hood. You remember that Steven Wright bit: "You how you feel when you lean back in chair and then you almost fall and then you catch yourself at the last second? I feel like that all the time." I...

most commonly used tools on supra

In my experience, 90% of jobs can be done with one of those cheap tool sets you can get at the parts store for $20. That increases to 97% if you throw in a set of vice grips and a cheater bar. I keep my real tools in the garage and keep two "travel" sets in the house. Both of which, when...

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

Check out the discussion on page 6 here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25024&page=6 According to me, the solstice shift sits 4" back from the stock soarer location. Isn't the Soarer the same thing as a SC? The canyon trans is a step in the wrong direction. It is...

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

The solstice shifter sits ~8" further back from a straight up R154/W58. IIRC, this is 2" further than nominal for a SC300. Might have to move the Ebrake, but I think it would go. I think I paid about $300 for mine. And I'm planning on junking it. I want to get a shaft from a 4x4 Toyota...

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

Not sure on the fans. I think a stock radiator should be fine. The 4.2 puts out 291 HP - not that much more than a 7m. Yes, you can bolt the AR5 to the 2JZ with the 1JZ bell. Assuming your AR5 came from a Solstice, you'd use the biggest GM clutch disk that you can fit with a 2JZ pressure...

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

Cool, thanks! I'm trying to mod the parts that are less likely to need replacement. I'd love to see other Supras with this swap. There is a gentlemen working on a casted rear-sump pan. If someone would do a run of mounts, the thing would be bolt-in! I'm also anxious to move it under it's...
