Interest in a bolt-in Solstice trans?

First gear is shorter. 5th is taller. Overall, it's wider.

Interest in a bolt-in Solstice trans?

Is anybody here interested in the Solstice trans? In my thread it seems like the only reservations were 1) Torque capacity and 2) Custom shifter housing Item one was resolved when Mallet put a V8 in front of the Solstice trans. Does that mean that #2 is the only hold-up...

    Flywheel bolts keep backing off...

I'd guess there is a more systematic problem if this has been happening frequently. Got a nasty engine vibration?

AR5 Trans Take Two: The Solstice Solution

I'd like to turbo in the future after getting it running. The Holset Hx40 is nearly a perfect fit and cheap. Please PM more info on the Wheel to Wheel setups if you have it. Never heard of it.

Careful, don't give away my secret ;) I'm surprised you got it. Even if you recognize the engine on sight, it looks different without the mainfold and cam cover.

AR5 Trans Take Two: The Solstice Solution

Have you measured shifter placement with the Colorodo version? I think it would be about 6" forward of the current location... The Supra is undergoing a super secret motor swap. Here's a teaser: Hint: Displacement is > 3.5L

    I am sick of brakes

Are you sure air is leaking? There should be no leakage there unless there is a defect in your booster.

    weight reductions?

3" TBE exhaust was good for about 20lbs Lighter rims/bigger tires, call it a wash Mustang Aluminum spare, about 25lbs That's about it. Next would have been the front and rear bumper supports.

    MK4 radiator in MK3

MKIVs came stock with aluminum cores and plastic tanks. This is good for a substantial weight reduction, off the nose of the car no-less. However, Aluminum doesn't have the thermal properties of the stock unit. For ease, price, and efficiency, I like the stock replacement. I'd rather take...

AR5 Trans Take Two: The Solstice Solution

I had a fabricator weld the shifter housing together. He charged me $60 and I tipped him another $20 because I thought that was too cheap. Any driveshaft shop can hook you up. Be prepare to PAY, though.

AR5 Trans Take Two: The Solstice Solution

Yep, you can install the 1JZ bell just like the 7m bell. The colorado version has a normal GM slip-yoke, but the shifter is further forward than the Solstice version. Either way, you're looking at some amount of custom work.
