After my 2JZ engine swap we hooked up an adapeter piece (just a sleeve) into the tranny and had my speedo/odo back and working. But as long as I've had my Supra I've had a squeel behind the dash where the speedo cable connects to the gauge, and ironically after a few more miles with it working...
The rad sits up tall but snug, and the turbo spools surprisingly quick for its size. I like how much cooler I run with that rad, and it makes the use of the elec fans perfect for it.
Gotta love Seth's work!
Nope. Already know from whence the trouble originates. We had the dash working okay with certain gauges functioning (like the oil pressure and gas gauges...) before we went back into the harness to try and sort out the others. We thought we had fixed it until we lost ALL the gauges at once, so...
7.5A fuse still blowing, will need to pull the wiring again to see where the short is coming from. Can't roll down the windows now and it gets hot during the day, especially without AC. Dammit.
Got the windows and e-brake light to work, along with the CEL light (fukkin' great!) after I pulled and replaced the 7.5A fuse. Will need to check how to pull codes from an Aristo 2JZ engine.
Fun.
I have a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT headunit in there already, but it has no gauge display like other GPS's (everything else is sweet about it tho). It can install Droid apps thru the bluetooth connection, but it requires an OBD-II port for everything to work, and I don't have one (thinking about...
Okay. Seth and I jumped in the car and took her out on the open highway yesterday. After a few high RPM pulls and hitting fuel cut a few times (a couple at 5K!), Seth leaned out the mixture in lower and cruise gears to smooth her out. Now she's got power through the gears and accelerates more...
Someone almost beat Christof for the ugliest Supra ever, and you can buy it in Manassas, VA for only $9K!

And somewhere, off in Japan, another valued Japanese technician commits seppuku after merely glimpsing an abomination like...
Bumping my own thread.
The TEMS system actually does work fine, it reads all the necessary sensors and works as it should. Now, I have no appreciable difference in driving with ECT and Overdrive buttons on or off, which isn't surprising since I did nothing with either during the swap. Can...
The wiring won't reach there, it won't fit through the grommet even if it did, and harness extenders cost $$$ ($300+). Unless there's another way I'm not seeing.
It definitely gets warm under there but the heat shield, turbo blanket, and heat tape bring the ECU down pretty well. I'm still considering an enclosed case and some sort of air delivery up to the box somehow since I have open holes in the front to work with.
I'll have to use a laser therm to...
