I would just replace it with a new one...probably been on the car for many years and throughly clogged with carbon. I did a write-up on cleaning the ISC in this thread...4th post down:

An auto tranny doesn't put out anywhere near the heat that the motor does. Heck, a stock radiator has trouble enough removing the heat from coolant here in sunny Arizona ;)
I've got 18x9's w/ 38 offset on the back...275/35 tires. 18x8's w/ 38 offset on the front...235/40 tires. Eibach springs w/ Koni shocks. No rubbing at all. The 18" wheels took out half of the lowering effect of the springs.
I thought you had a set of wheels? Pretty nice ones too....
If you got a check engine light...you have an engine code and you need to know what that code it. It will point you to the correct parts of the system that caused the code. The TRSM is your friend :slap:
Been thinking about this....
The way the 7M oil system flows (short version) is from the pump to the filter, under pressure some of the oil is diverted to the cooler...the majority is fed to the various oil holes in the block and up to the head. Gravity returns the oil to the pan.
You...
You guys got the idea ;)
I bugged Larry at SP to no end until I was satisified the SP61 Turbo was going to meet my objective. I was looking for a quick spool with good high end power. For me, I went with a stall at the lower end of where the turbo starts to spool...I didn't want the...
Mine has a 3000 stall...less of what dbsupra90 experiences above. It's still responsive in normal driving, but allows me to rev to 3000 rpm and get the turbo spooled for a launch. Here's something to think about...when does your turbo spool? You want to match the turbo to the stall as close...
That would be me :icon_razz
Most bang for the buck comes when you do the exhaust system...manifold, heat shields, turbine housing, downpipe, and exterior of the CAT.
I keep trying to tell the many guys that want this done that, but most go for :bling:
Hmmm...what size is the braided oil line feeding the turbo? I don't know if too large a line will cause oil pressure to drop, but I do know you can flood the turbo with oil...to the point you blow the turbo oil seals.
Also, the filter you are using may be going into bypass...bad bypass...
Oooh...you live in the "Peoples Republic of California". Land of the goose-stepping public defenders. The guys I know over there tell me that if you fart in public, you'll get a ticket! :fart:
