Well, you didn't say if the engine cut in and out when you raised the speed so I guess we'll have to pass on that. Not important really, just another way to verify the wiring is good.
That's a good point on the metered air Jake. It'd be funny if it turned out his throttle is open. Simple stuff.
I miss Corvallis a lot. Neat place to live with great people. Lots of young chix too (with OSU and all). The weather made me crazy though. I still visit couple of times a year so next...
I designed/worked on pretty much everything but photolith. Mostly plasma stuff. Etchers, sputtering, vapor deposition, LPCVD, ect. I also spent time in the design and fabrication of ion implantation and molecular beam epitaxy equipment. Based on all that it should be obvious I'm also pretty...
You don't own a manual? Noob or not, why would you buy a car with a sophisticated EFI system and attempt to work on it without the manual?
If unplugging the TPS solves the problem your TPS is bad. The IDL contact is staying closed when the throttle is opened. This will tell the ECU to go into...
There is no way VTA at 8.3 ohms is right with the throttle open but forget about that now.
So you didn't "fix" anything right? The codes just come and go? Unplugging the TPS shouldn't cause the car to run differently other than a change in idle. Your TPS isn't related to a rich mixture, it...
So it was in open loop? No stoichio mixture to the cat there eh? Measuring the 02 sensor must have been a surprise. That must be a good cat you have on there to bring the HC and CO down. It was working hard though. This is a classic example of why a new cat should not be used to pass emissions...
One reason I stayed out. You were providing him with good info and he was making progress. And yeah, he's trying whether he makes any or not. Just that his frustration is starting to get in the way. I know how he feels though. It's that same frustration and feeling of helplessness when...
Yeah, funny how most people never sweat AC stuff in the winter. That's the time to do it. Indpendent parts are often discounted and the AC shops are hungry. At least check the system out every spring before the temps head up.
Lol, don't you go bailing on me. I've ignored this thread because it violates many of my criterion for responding but I dislike seeing someone flailing around. Doesn't mean I won't bail myself though ;)
About two years ago I sold a HUD to a guy on ebay. A nice setup with boost, rpm, oil pressure, all kinds of things. I no longer have his info. Are you on here?
Hmm, I don't get it. Slovakia is a dump while Ukraine is a nice place with wonderful people. Ever been to Kiev, Odessa or Crimea? My wife and I also have a lucrative business there that depends on foregin guys like you so knock it all you want as long as the money keeps flowing ;).
Sigh....you're making me crazy ;). The ISC system works by diverting air around the closed throttle plate. If the idle is high with the throttle plate closed and you cap off the only source of air to the engine what do you think should happen? And if it doesn't what conclusion will that lead you...
No Johnathan, it doesn't mean it's toast ;). When you unplug the ISCV it simple freezes at the point it happened to be when you unplugged it, so you shouldn't expect the idle to change at that point. Do you hear it click just after the engine is shut down?
