Oh yeah, under boost, it's loud...scares small children, old ladys and animals alike :icon_eek: You could get the one that routes back to the exhaust to quiet it down.
You want the flex...at least IMO you do. Relieves stress to the turbo from the pipe being attached to the body.
Yeah replace them...use Toyota though...I used Dorman plugs and discovered they are very slightly under size. Blew the front drivers side one...it's not pretty.
Yes...jumper the connections with a wire with the ignition on and see if the code goes away.
Remember...the code 51 will appear if you touch the throttle...it should not be there while it is at idle touching nothing.
Unplug the new one and see if there is any change.
When you touch the throttle, code 51 should come on...that is normal. And it should go away when the throttle is released. When you took the AC out, did you remove everything?
Yes, jumper it while it is running and see if the code goes away.
Code 52 is the knock sensors...did you do the...
I assume a ceramic coating...it will not cover those cracks. The ones around the wastegate are not a big deal, but the crack inside the housing is not good. If I get one sent to me to coat that looks like that, I send it back :3d_frown:
Ok...is code 51 all you have now? And does it appear when the car is at idle, A/C off?
Did you do this (it does appear you have continuity IDL-E2)? What I'm looking for is if you still have the code with IDL-E2 jumpered.
I have an AEM EMS that is begging to be installed. I've read where various folks placed their sensors, but I am concerned about heat soak on the IAT sensor...problem is, the best place to install it is in the back of the 3000 pipe. Any problems with heat soak on the sensor in this location...
No worries...I'm not. :naughty: I responded since he is really trying...I do understand the frustration tracking stuff down in the EFI system, it can be maddening! You just have a knack for making it look simple JJ ;)
Supratj - help us out with detail of what you did, readings on specific...
Hey Supratj - looks like to me you're making progress, just take it a step at a time and you'll figure it out. JJ is extremely good at the EFI system...I was hoping he would see this thread and chime in. I do ok, but have to think about it too much ;) JJ puts it in steps you can follow and I...
Your can test the ISC while it is still on the car. If you take the ISC off, cleaning it and replacing the check valve under it is a very good idea. The ISC valve seat and check valve get a good amount of carbon build-up.
Take a look at this thread...
If you have an EGR system on the car...you don't want to bypass.
If you have removed the EGR system, just plug the vac line that goes to the EGR valve...or take the EGR VSV out completely and plug the line from the top of the throttle body.
Check your coolant hoses...especially the small 90 deg hose from the banjo at the back of the head to the block coolant hardline.
Plugs, plug wires, tire pressure....
