Seems you're getting a bit confused.
1) E1 is ground, same as the battery negative cable.
2) Vf is a signal output. Do not short it to ground.
3) T is a signal input. It's ok to short to ground.
4) You connect a voltmeter across Vf and E1 (or battery negative) to monitor it.
5) You connect...
I hope you're referring to E and T with that comment or that you're using paper clips to connect a meter to Vf. Do not short Vf and do not drive the car with E and T shorted.
Grim, in your photo I see TE2. Do you have a pin there or is the hole empty? I ask because I've never seen a Supra...
Yeah, I figured you put them in series for speed. I'm not a fan of series strings but as long as you're aware of the lose one lose all it's no big deal. I thought you might be using the stock ECU and the original FP output for control and tied the HPS in by mistake. My bad. You're good to go but...
Hey, at least he's making an effort. It's not all that bad and may even work. He just didn't supply enough info. That's why I said "apparent" errors. Tissimo, what ECU is that and what pins are you using? Why are you using the HPS of the A/C and why is it connected to the ECU? I don't recall...
Learning about electricity are we? Don't get me wrong. I commend your efforts, it's more than most people are willing to do.
I'll let you guys figure out the apparent errors in the schematic but to answer the question a stock fuel pump pulls 4 to 6 amps. If you want to know for sure just use a...
I've also used Blackstone for years, both on the cars and aircraft. There are other firms that'll do a filter analysis for you but as has been said what's the point? As an aside, one way to to identify non-ferrous metals is by using acid. You can do it yourself or buy a kit.
As I said, the product has it's uses. It's popular with bikers for a reason. I also ride and used Seafoam in the fuel for years. The naphtha in it works well to clean fuel varnish in my Vulcan's carbs but after a bit of study and testing I found something that does a better job. Since you...
I said what the consequences are in a recent thread. It was rebuked so I left it up to the members to decide. You have to remember I deal with this sort of stuff all the time so when I run into those who "know better" I back off.
I'll say it again: The product has it's uses but this isn't one...
It's not about me, it's about science and the knowledge born of it. In technical matters science is the only antidote to the poison of opinion.
It's not my intention to come across as a prick but sometimes the ignorance here is more than a little tough to swallow. If I addressed even a fraction...
Lol...of course it idles better. Let us know how long that lasts. The rest is purely subjective. Some of you just crack me up. Forget basic automotive, you need to take basic chemistry.
+1 to shaeff ;)
I care. Wasn't that clear? Lol, guess you don't care that I care though.
Carbon on cylinder walls? Sounds logical. Trouble is many things that sound logical aren't. That's why learning exists. Hopefully this will motivate you to do some unless you want remain one of the...
No, not at that power setting and load. That they will is a common misconception. Kingpin: You left that motor open and exposed over a winter? You didn't protect the bores? And you're using a 20-50 and Lucas in Toronto? In winter?
The problem is probably not the gage but to answer your question the stock gage is electric, powered by a pressure transducer on the left fender. They're usually reliable but if you don't trust it you can verify boost with another gage. Any cheap boost gage from an auto store will work. Sears...
Examining plugs is one way to tell if the engine is running lean or rich. In fact you're right, I should've told the OP to check his plugs since he has no ther way to measure mixture. If he's rich enough to foul the cat his plugs will look like yours.
Plugs in an engine running lean will have...
3p is as usual dead on. I was alluding to this in another post with Johnathan. Freon TF (113) is what I use. I have a gallon of the stuff left over from a 5 gallon can I bought years ago when working in semi. The stuff was used all over the industry back then. It can still be had if you look...
Hmm, those aren't minor details and should've been in your first post. Check the voltage across the battery at idle. Should be around 14 volts. If you ran the battery down dead you've already impacted it's service life. All it takes is one time. If you now go and rapid charge it you'll do even...
Yeah. It's still a crap shoot though because too much air will result in going too lean and EGT will fall. The booster hose is usually about right for a leak but he may need to go bigger or smaller by using a combination of hoses. But try the booster alone first because I'm not motivated enough...
