    Oil Drain Plug

I'm tellin ya, put a Fumoto on it and be happy. I've been using the things for 20 years: http://tinyurl.com/r7scz

Anyone ever had issues with champion spark plugs?

Lawn mowers? Fwiw Champions are the number one plug in aviation and have been for over 60 years. Millions of people trust their lives to them every day. In fact they're one of only two plug manufacturers approved for use in most aircraft so yeah, they must be clueless about how to make the things.

    code 12

I only glanced at that thread (SF is tough to swallow) but if the starter doesn't turn the engine as soon as you turn the key that problem needs to be addressed. The ECU wants to see NE just after it sees STA but it obviously won't if the engine doesn't actually crank. It's just a computer you...

    Electrical or ECU problem....

Make sure you're referencing a good ground. Use the one right on the main relay. When troubleshooting always use the ground at the device giving a problem or at least confirm it first thing. Referencing to the battery or body is poor technique is most cases. IGSW is an input that requires 12...

Fwiw shield grounding at both ends is not a good thing.

Has anyone ever tried or know where to get a magnetic oil drain plug for a Supra?

Keep in mind there are all kinds of opinions, from the totally clueless to those that are fact. Most people will use "imo" to avoid making outright claims but you can bet some of them have a lot of experience or study behind what they say. Some, like me, will otherwise keep quiet. Nor is it...

    oil filters?

It's nice not to be clueless. Most people would rather die than thing though. Heck, some even wannadie ;) Dub, it's as clean as it's gonna get by now so I'd stick the Trasko on. Funny how some claim the PureOne is too restrictive for engine use. Putting aside oil pumps are positive displacement...

    oil filters?

Jeez, based on that I'd better run right out and buy one. I've given up the oil and filter thing but good job jdub. Got that Trasko installed on the tranny yet? Also right about the SuperTech at Wally World. An excellent filter made by Champ Labs and you can't beat the price. Too bad the orange...

Has anyone ever tried or know where to get a magnetic oil drain plug for a Supra?

God you guys are a riot. You're connected to the internet for crying out loud. The very first site that comes up when Googling "magnetic drain plug" is this one: www.magneticdrainplug.com I don't use a mag plug for the reasons stated. They have some value on trannys but something like a Trasko...

Please help me with Code 52

Knock will not cause this code. In fact in the technical sense it's a lack of knock that causes it.

Super bright LEDs for tail lights

Well, that's normal. I told you, you have to recal the LFM so it accepts the leds and since the LFM is inline with the tails they won't work when the box is unplugged. If you want to use leds either remove the LFM and bypass as Jeff suggested or change the resistor. It's either that or stay with...

Another "My 7M won't idle right" Thread.

Probably not the source of your problem then but you still need to either put the valves back in or defeat the systems altogether. Leaving it the way it is will cause other problems. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Again, codes? As soon as you get it running set timing.

Another "My 7M won't idle right" Thread.

I understand it didn't come with one. Since you're in Cali good thing you put one on. The GE VSV one will work. Just disconnect EGR for now, same with the BVSV. You can hook them up when you get everything checked out. The charcoal cannister and EGR work off ported vacuum. Since your JDM...

Another "My 7M won't idle right" Thread.

What Johnathan said and check for codes. Also fill the tranny and be done with it. Why wait? You can't bypass those valves. Blocking them off is OK but don't bypass them. Find the source of what sounds like a huge leak because it probably is. Your girlfriend's dad is right, if the EGR is...

Super bright LEDs for tail lights

Yep, that's true. It's the only reason fuses open ;). Maybe you have a funky socket or something wasn't quite seated. Or maybe one of those LED clusters took a dump.

Super bright LEDs for tail lights

Assuming the typical 20 ma for discrete LEDs 24 of them would run about half an amp. I forget what a 1157 pulls but I'm pretty sure it's more. The LFM senses current by measuring drop across a resistor. Standard electronic technique for that sort of thing. It's how the module knows a filament...

Super bright LEDs for tail lights

I was referring to why the failure lamp lit. Obviously the short is a different issue. Probably from an installation glitch. But the way the LFM senses current it will need to be tweaked when using LEDs. At least mine did. As I recall there's a calibration resistor (a current shunt really) on...

Super bright LEDs for tail lights

The problem is they don't draw enough current. You'll have to change a resistor in the lamp failure module.

    emissions passing and egr port

Well, I'm not saying people shouldn't be concerned. The EGR on the Supra is built to be fail safe ie; if the VSV fails EGR will always be active except at idle where it's vacuum source is removed by the ported throttle body. That sort of implies the USDM ECU has an ESA EGR algorithm. If so an...
