:withstupi The operative word here is "slight"...and Nick, you're not stupid ;)
On a stock CT26 (not shimmed or no MBC), the most boost I ever saw was ~6 psi...the intake, Defcon downpipe, and 3" CAT back exhaust on my former set-up did increase it "slightly", but it still did not peg the...
I swear...sometimes it seems everytime "white smoke" or "high temp gauge" is mentioned, the first suggestion is a BHG. Eliminate the simple things first.
Anyway...on to your problem. ;)
Is there a common time when the motor does this? (i.e. motor cold, after highway speed run, etc.) Do...
Couple of things to check:
- Freeze plugs
- Rubber hose from water neck to hard pipe around block
- Hard pipe around block itself
- Rubber hose from hard pipe around block to outlet at top/rear of head
- Water lines running to turbo
Not as well....everybody seems to want cheap and the coating I use is def not that ;) Got a fair amount left and will likely stop once they are gone.
Glad you liked the stuff man...it is a great coating.
You can still drive the car ;)
Took me a year to build mine up...I didn't rush and kept the cash flow managable. Then you sell all the parts off the JDM on eBay...I recouped a big chunk of the outlay for the JDM motor.
He needs to rotate both the compressor housing (intake side) and turbine housing now that I look at it closer. The center section needs to have the water fitting on top, oil inlet/outlet on bottom. Once that is done, the compressor side needs to be rotated where the outlet points down. The...
The CT26 for the MR2 (if my memory is correct) have 5 bolts on the downpipe flange...the compressor housings are the same except for the wastegate actuator fitting location (which is no biggie).
Good eyes
It's gonna be a hair dryer for the cylinder head in that position. All you have to do it remove the compressor housing snap ring and rotate 90 deg where it's pointing down like it should. It is a Supra CT26 though. I was looking at the bolt pattern on the turbine...
Looks like a Supra CT26 to me ;)
And the numbers (42010) in the manifold flange match a turbine housing I have right here in my hand. The water lines look bent though....
