I watch all of the different news myself...even the views I don't agree with. I figure that way I'll get the "whole" story.
Concerning making more terrorists...I share your fear too Joel. The only way we will ever stop this crap in the Middle East is to for the common people involved to see...
A couple of points to ponder:
- What we see and hear in the US is what the media wants to show us and that is determined by the people at the news service. Depending on their agenda (and what sells news)...we see killing, protestors, and what looks like set back after set back. I know for...
One other thing you might want to check...there are two versions of the speed sensor on the drivers side tranny tail. Pretty sure it's split from the '87-'88 to the '89 up. When I had mine built, it had a sensor with it, so I installed as is...plugged right up. Got a tranny ECU code (O/D...
Thank you 91T :icon_bigg
I've got quite a bit of time in the Nevada desert myself...worked the Nellis ranges many times and did a little "cut" across pyramid lake myself heading down to the Fallon range. Just loved buzzing boats at a high rate of speed...LOL.
BTW - Congrats to your...
Aerodynamics Lesson Alert! :icon_bigg
When the F-14's wing is swept back, it is actually in a delta shape and behaves pretty much the same. Great for high mach...turning wise, not as good as other designs using slats/flaps to change the shape of the wing (like the F-16 & F-18) to optimize...
Nah...you want to go by an AFROTC unit at the nearest college that has one. You'll get the straight scoop from those guys. A recruiter has a quota...keep in mind that he will try to talk you into enlisting. Not that it's a bad deal for a lot of people, it's just by the time you get done with...
Thanks Cadman...it was fun while it lasted :bigun2:
Yeah...the medical is tough. Probably knocks out half the candidates for one reason or another. You should see the test data for the real F-22 (the 1st operational squadron opened up 6 months ago at Langley AFB, VA)...it's an incredible...
Flew F-16A (Blk 10) to F-16C (Blk 40)...got almost 2000 F-16 hrs + another 1400 in the T-38 ;)
For the Air Force...You have to be an officer. That means a college degree + commission source (ROTC, Academy, Officer Training School). You have to be medically qual to be a pilot...VERY through...
The Tomcats later in the video were "D" models with the big GE engines...finally got the power that big muther needed. The Tomcat was designed as an interceptor to take out the Russian Bear bomber (w/ anti-ship cruise missles) threat using the Phoenix air-to-air missle (also shown in the vid)...

Post #3...adapter for aftermarket oil sending units ;)
No tapping required.
A couple of other things on a Cometic MHG...the dreaded rivets must be removed. Take a look at this thread:

More info on the Cometic...scroll down to the "Tech Tips" on installing a MLS gasket...
Read his 1st post...we were talking about a basic set-up. Your set-up is far from basic ;) I'm pushing 20+ psi out of a SP61 with upgraded intercooler & hardpipes...that's why I didn't use mine as an example...apples vs oranges.
Listen to IJ ;)
Using spray sealer of any kind on a NEW MHG will turn the factory coating into goo...not good! The coating on the cometic MHG will seal just fine...use ARP hardware and torque to spec. The Cometic MHG requires a surface RA of 50 or less...both the head and block surface...
Not knocking your mechanic, but how did he determine there was no HG problem?
Your coolant is going somewhere ;) A pressure test is the only way to figure that out. Most mechanics do not realize how finicky the MKIII's coolant system is...a small leak will induce air into the system and...
Yep...and you'll def have to dump a ton of cash-ola into a A340E to get it above 350 HP. The stock auto can't handle a lot of power...extra friction, higher stall torque converter (mine's 3000 rpm), cyro treated parts, and a modified valve body to improve the shift. You can't go cheap on an...
Rick beat me to the pressure test ;)
On a CT26 center section, there is two housings...the inside is for the oil..the shaft is bathed in it via a small hole. The oil seal is really not a seal like in the motor...rubber could not stand the heat. It's a series of restrictions to minimize oil...
