    Question about Chevron Techron

SOPUS (Shell Oil Products US) owns GumOut so what do you suppose they use in V Power? As I said, nobody has really come up with something better and Chevron makes more money by selling it (or licensing it's manufacture) than by keeping a monopoly on it. Since they developed the stuff they just...

    Question about Chevron Techron

Hold on now. Most of the major fuel companies use PEA. Many even buy it from Oronite. They just can't call it Techron. You can also buy cheaper gas and just add a bottle twice a year. But OK, since I own Chevron stock feel free to splurge ;)

    Always use jack stands!!!

Me too. I don't get it. The guy says he always uses jack stands but clearly doesn't. Then he offers this advice, implying everyone else is as dumb as he is. I'm confused....and offended ;) The truth is it only takes one time. Just once. And not only for jack stands. It takes the blink of an eye...

    TPS problems again...

It's easy to check so I don't see what the confusion is. If the resistances don't check out per the manual replace it. After you do, set it up as I described above or use the manual. All you're doing is setting a switch to have continuity when the throttle plate is closed. It's not rocket science.

    Question about Chevron Techron

The same chemical is in the gas Chad just in a smaller concentration. If you've used Chevron all along that's a good thing. The odds are your fuel system is clean so you don't need to buy any of the PEA products. Course, any money you saved (and then some) was pissed away by the completely...

    Question about Chevron Techron

I'm not sure Jonathan. I suspect it may have to do with the carrier. After all, the bottle isn't 100% PEA. I think Regane uses kerosene but I don't know what the carrier is in SI-1 or Techron. I only know people rave about how good the stuff is "working" but are surprised when the misfire or...

    Question about Chevron Techron

Yeah, the PEA content of Techron is somewhat fuzzy but that's the accepted belief. I'm a Regane and SI-1 guy myself. One nice thing about PEA is how smoothly it can make an engine idle. Makes the exhaust smell sort of odd too. Just remember if you had a bad idle it may come back on the next tank ;)

    Question about Chevron Techron

Techron is in reality about 40% polyether amine, one of the most effective injector and valve deposit cleaners known. Chevron invented the stuff and their Oronite Division is the world's largest producer. It's in their gas too. PEA can also be found in RedLine SI-I and GumOut's Regane product...

    TPS problems again...

Well, it's only a guess based on what your describing but since you were messing with the TPS it's a good bet your problem is rpm cut. That said if you "calibrated" it right you shouldn't have this problem. Also, 2000 is a bit low for rpm cut. If it is rpm cut what's happening is simple. The...

Best Product for Rubber / Plastic rejuvenation (Door Seals...)

At least someone got the joke ;) Fomblin was the first of the perflouro oils and is still made in Italy. Back in the day we used to joke about how many pizzas it took to make a quarter kilo of Fomblin. Iirc it around $700 a bottle back then. Chapstick? That's great ;)

Best Product for Rubber / Plastic rejuvenation (Door Seals...)

Lol yeah, it's spendy but perfluorinated lubricants like Krytox and Fomblin are right up there as the best in the world. It's so expensive the oils are sold by weight, like drugs, instead of volume. Spaceship stuff. As I said it pains me. Use silicone and be happy ;)

Best Product for Rubber / Plastic rejuvenation (Door Seals...)

What? Forever Black or Krytox? Google either term. Forever Black is pretty easy to come by. Krytox is harder and not cheap. I have several tubes of it from back in the days when I worked in Silicone Valley ;)

Best Product for Rubber / Plastic rejuvenation (Door Seals...)

That would be silicone. Silicon is what integrated circuits are made from. It's also a fancy name for dirt ;). Lots of people make the mistake though so don't feel bad. That said silicone spray is as common as dirt. As for the oil your local hobby shop sells it for use in the shocks and...

    engine restore additive?

My oil has billions of micro-particles in it too. They're called atoms ;) You just have to laugh at the ooga-booga pseudo science these guys use. It's also funny how they all claim everyone else's product is oil of snake but their own. Ah well...lucky for them "there's one born every minute"..
