    Injector Ohms, which multimeter setting?

In the case of injectors (especially turbo injectors) you're measuring not many turns of a coil of wire. That's going to be only a few ohms. Use the lowest range the meter has. X1. Iirc GTE injectors should be around 4 ohms with the external resistor pack being used to limit their current.

    Bad idle when warmed up

Lol, nah. I've bit on this guy's hook before. That and the "find more posts by" function shows some folks simply can't be helped. Feel free to learn this lesson for yourself though ;)

Fuel, Spark but still won't start??

Define "has fuel". It's not going to run as long as it has a code 14 even if it has spark .

why cant things just be simple?

It is simple. You just have to be smarter than the car. Remove the brake line bracket then swing the caliper up.

    First time hearing this whine!

Yeah, a nearly seized bearing in the tensioner or a belt going over a totally seized tensioner would never make that kind of noise.

    First time hearing this whine!

Did you get the 5 year old write that post for you? Is she also your mechanic? If the belt is stretched and the tensioner frozen what do you think is the problem?

    Death Whine?

I was asking because running without an air filter usually causes erratic idle since the laminar flow screen can't do it's job. Makes for disruptions in vortex generation. I'm just trying to add another data point to my experience as most people don't run the engine without a filter. The few...

    weird timing

Which plug were you using? 1 or 6? Assuming the car runs OK then likely the CPS wasn't installed right. Pull and reset it. Easiest way is to draw match marks across the G pickup and housing then reinstall as centered on the slot as possibly with the match marks aligned. Re-time afterwards to get...

Did you jumper the diag block? Got a code 51 with the throttle fully closed?

    Whoot... Engine fire.

Or a Battery Brain. That way he can turn it off by remote control ;) http://tinyurl.com/2orqky http://tinyurl.com/3alhc5

    Whoot... Engine fire.

The main thing is you weren't hurt and learned a lesson to boot. The car can be replaced. So sayeth GI Joe ;)

    Whoot... Engine fire.

Well, the fire occurred because the over-current device didn't protect the circuit. So you have two issues: 1) What caused the over-current and 2) Why didn't the fuse cut it off. The alternator probably was the cause of the fire so it's likely a one time deal but you need to make sure the wiring...

    Whoot... Engine fire.

Man, that's one toasted alternator. The melted fuse area implies you indeed had an electrical problem that shouldn't have happened. If I were you I'd be searching long and hard for the root cause. That POS dry chem extinguisher is better than nothing but you should've sprung for Halon. I'll...

    r-12 to r-134a

Yeah, I know the R12 nut is much tougher to crack in Canada and Europe. We're lucky it's still allowed here. Here all refrigerants must be recovered and the machine must be dedicated to the refrigerant being recovered. It's why most shops won't work on cars that have other than CFC 12 of HFC...

If it's "locked up" it can't be from a lack of oil. There's some other problem with it. See here for info: http://tinyurl.com/2hx4ev

Need help with Head Gasket (beginning to go)

Since it's a closed reservoir system the radiator is supposed to filled to the brim at all times. Nor is the cap supposed to be routinely removed. Coolant is supposed to be added only to the reservoir which should be should be at the full line or slightly more when the engine is cold. I keep...

    Looking for Supra experts

Infuriate? It's just a car and the internet. Not a substitute for life. But yeah, I know what you mean. What can we do though? Guys like us have to either put up or not let the screen door hit us in the ass on the way out...

    Whoot... Engine fire.

Maybe a seized bearing then. The things are packed with grease. That would've torn your belt up though. You're right, people think it'll never happen to them. Your car should have an extinguisher, a good flashlight, basic tools, a blanket, flares, even first aid stuff. A whole bunch of things...

    r-12 to r-134a

No, it's not. It's still a blend though. Worse, I think it's not SNAP approved ie; illegal for use in the US because it's hydrocarbon based. I could be wrong though. Even propane and butane are excellent refrigerants but it wouldn't be very smart to use them. In fairness to the other poster...
