Follow-up on this:
After no ECU re-sets for 2-3 weeks, my EGT remained stable at the figures in the 1st post. The motor is def keeping EGT at the lower numbers since I installed the EGR.
I had other issues crop up that were unrelated and have fixed....including jumping a timing belt tooth...
Sorry, but I don't. I got mine at Checkers Auto Parts...lifetime warranty.
And yes, I do ceramic coatings. Sold a lot of ceramic coated parts on eBay for a while...been really busy for the last 6 months and haven't had the time. I have a bunch of parts done sitting in the store room ;)
You are correct Oliver...100 amp MR2 alternator (1991 2.0L with powersteering). That year MR2 used an electric pump to run the powersteering, hence the higher amps. You have to change your pulley from the stock Supra alternator to the MR2 one...it's a tight fit, but bolts right up and the...
I finished my rebuild Aug 05. As part of that, I ceramic coated almost every external part...the blue IC pipes and intake manifold are a 1400 deg ceramic; the rest (including all brackets) is a 2000 deg chrome. The beauty about the ceramic is it wipes clean with a cloth/409 and doesn't tarnish...
Got one of those myself ;)
They are very nice, high quality, perfect fitment...Jaws does a great job on these.
You will need longer bolts to attach to your differential. Here's a write-up I did on the install:

Here's the CPS air gap spec in the TRSM:

I don't think that is your problem, but it's worth checking.
Have you tried running the car with the MAP ECU removed?
Do you have access to another stock (correct...
What ATI doesn't want you to do is to hone out the center hole (i.e. increase its diameter) of the damper hub where it fits over the crank shaft. It is spec'ed as a tight press fit. You MUST turn down the stock crank bolt flange to get it to fit inside the center hole to secure the damper to...
The auto tranny is tight in a Supra...doing that causes excessive wear to the clutch packs. Not to mention your bands. It would cause extra wear on ANY auto or manual tranny.
Very bad driving technique...just don't do it. Take the extra half a second to be a little easier on your car...
Good call! Just think what would happen if your Joe Bob built turbo decided to send metal chunks down your intake ;)
It's not just the cost, but also your time...I can promise you your time is a huge factor.
Resist the temptation to go cheap. There's a big difference between getting...
That is a very true statement...you can have Jon do it and enjoy the turbo for many miles, or you can have Joe Bob's Turbo Shop do it and rebuild it again in a year. Your call...do it right, do it once ;)
$400 for a complete turbo rebuild is a very good price.
Frank - check your math ;)
It's actually an 9% increase in area with the Previa caliper. Really not worth it IMO unless you have to replace your calipers anyway. However, the dual caliper should help spread the clamping force better across the pad.
