I recently had an owner ask me to install this kit. There were several things I didn't like about it, not the least was that it used Recoil inserts as opposed to Helicoil. However the main point I wanted to make was the exhaust gasket would not fit over the lower two studs. Not because they...
N/A spec is 156 while the turbo is 142. No more then 14 difference between cylinders. Assuming the engine hasn't been modified higher pressures are usually due to deposits. It's always better to check the book rather than go by "read somewhere" memory what specs are. Even though a compression...
He doesn't come across as one. Proves once again there's no substitute for knowledge and the proper test gear. Being smarter than the car beats throwing parts at it any day of the week.
Rock'em sock 'em robots. Now there's a blast from the past. I go all the way back to erector sets and other toys that caused various mayhem to young bodies. I've never thought about it but I'm probably the oldest guy here. Scary.
Well, the schematic shows you should have a bad fusible link. Check them in the fuse box. In fact check all the fuses. Since you've screwed with the battery wiring I don't know what you have. This should be a simple problem to find though.
Jumper T and E in the diag block. Run the engine at 2500 rpm unloaded and measure between Vf and ground. Try and measure the average of the signal on DC volts and tell us what it is. If your meter has a Min/Max/Avg mode use it. If not use the analog display bars. If it doesn't have either you...
Nope, don't know. Unplug yours with the key one an see if it clicks. If the CEL is on it should. I warn you, just because the ECU is alive doesn't mean it hasn't be crippled. They're pretty tough though. Many of the ones I've seen are reverse polarity protected but I don't now about ours. Guess...
Damn, I missed it. I've said this before but if ones looks at this from purely an engineering standpoint there shouldn't be any problem using stock bolts in a stock application. Even reusing them shouldn't be a problem because from the data I've seen at no time are they loaded into the plastic...
Dub: No fair. You cheated for your junk. Got it free while I had to pay...for both of us ;)
Jag: 500 mph in those desert school zones really tends to upset the locals ;)
GotToy: Memories have to start somewhere. Soon you'll be yelling at kids to get off your lawn ;)
Fidgit: The car will...
Not possible? Damn, and all along I thought it was mine to do with as I pleased. It's going to do something you've never seen a Supra do before but probably wished it could. Film at 11 ;)
They need to be at least 1 volt p/p. Here's the timing. Without spark you won't get injection. If you're not getting spark you should be getting a code 14. If no code 14 the CPS isn't being recognized. In that case a code 12 or 13 should come up.
edit: Oops. If you're spinning it by hand the 12...
I'll take a shot at it Mike. I've interpreted a few of these in my time ;)
Not bad for one test but you really need trend to know what's going on. Silicon is high. Normally that might be attributable to sealant or the antifoaming agent used in some oils but with the high Al to go along with it...
