Very nice numbers! I love the was an auto will keep building boost/power almost all the way to redline ;)
(with the right mods of course)
I got an IPT tranny and torque converter (3000 stall) myself...holding up very well so far. How is the shift shock on yours?
Thanks guys...but, I'm not that smart ;)
I just like to know how things work. You can research almost anything fairly easy now-and-days and knowing how a machine (or a Supra) works gives you a better understanding of what to do and how to do it if you have a problem. It's really not...
Have you checked for tranny codes?

Take a look at the troubleshooting for an auto:

In particular the voltage variance between diag...
For you folks that have been on this site for a while, you know I’m a pretty big advocate of never using a spray sealer on a new MHG. I’ve based my argument against using it mostly on the various manufacturers recommendations…none recommend using a spray sealer. I’ve...
Well...I tend to be pretty thorough and triple check everything ;) It's the slow down and do it faster way of thinking...that way, I usually don't have to do it again. For example, I put a dial indicator w/ extension on the #1 piston to check actual DTC, made absolutely sure the indexes were...
Dude - an oil catch can or oil in the TB will have no effect on the TPS in anyway, shape, or form. Search for posts on code 51...the TRSM has a procedure for adjusting it correctly.
Code 31 is purely an electrical problem with the AFM like Shaeff said...the wiring or the AFM electronics are bad.
Josh - did you happen to clean the inside of the AFM with spray carb cleaner or something like it?
Code 51 will appear if the AC button is on or if the throttle is depressed while checking the codes. Otherwise, it can indicate a bad TPS or one that's out of adjustment. The TRSM willl tell you how to adjust the TPS. Otherwise, do a search on the code 51 for more info...a lot of posts on...
BTW - Aaron and the other guys are correct...you should have re-surfaced the block if you're going to use a MHG. I actually missed that :3d_frown:
Installing a MHG without decking the block to the proper RA spec is a crap shoot at best on if it will hold up or not.
I don't ;)
Air at the top of the radiator is not going to effect the cooling system...you are going to have some air in the system. That hump keeps small amounts of air right where it belongs...at the top of the radiator, out of the core, and out of the block.
The ability of the supra...
Hmmm...O2 sensor wire cut...yeah, that can be a problem!
You might wnat to check your ECU codes; look here:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&Page=23
BTW - just to be clear, 200 deg F on your coolant temp is ok ;)
Well...that depends ;)
The stock system was designed to run with a 195 deg F thermostat...running it at a lower temp may cause an idle problem due to the temp (176 deg F) the ECU switches from cold to hot idle. The ECU adjusts the ISC valve based on engine temp and stops that adjustment at...
