I cringe at some of the behavior I've witnessed from my countrymen abroad. Makes me grateful nearly 70% of Americans don't have passports. The again if more did maybe they'd learn the US isn't the center of the universe. Since I hijacked the thread that's all I'm going to say about it other than...

Finished my battery relocation with cutoff switch and fuel pump rewire (PICS)

^ Me too ;) Hard to tell but the wiring looks undersize for the length involved. *Edit* 6 awg? Too small. Add some overcurrent protection at the battery. Boots and grommets where required. You should've run the ground to the block first and then the chassis. Because you didn't I hope you at...

Finished my battery relocation with cutoff switch and fuel pump rewire (PICS)

Yeah, that's all wrong. Fire waiting to happen. Too bad, as it looks like he put some detailed work into it.

Lol, as someone who has spent much of his life traveling you'll get no argument about that from me. I'm often embarrassed to be one, especially these days.

    Question about possible BVSV problem

Not sure I follow. The entire point of these tests is to pinpoint which, if any, of these systems are at fault. It the problem goes away the last system you played with is the culprit, especially if the car starts better several times in succession. You gotta remember troubleshooting over the...

    Question about possible BVSV problem

The BVSV was unlikely to be your previous idle problem unless the throttle plate is misadjusted. It could be your current idle problem if the same condition exists. It's more likely to be either a loss of fuel system rest pressure or a failure of the Fuel Pressure Up system. Disconnect and...

    Got another problem

The cold start injector can't run after start. It only operates when the engine is being cranked. Not saying it can't mechanically leak, just that it can't receive power without the key being in the start position.

    Cold start miss/stumble

Hello Andrew. It does sound like a starting enrichment issue caused by either a faulty cold start injection, pirate air, or both. Since the cold idle is correct the coolant sensor is working. Check the cold start injection components including the thermo-time switch. Keep in mind the CSI system...

Goodyear actually sells hose springs. They're expensive too. I chuckle every time I see one. No properly sized run of the mill spring (preferably stainless) would ever work ;) JTG: The spring will get you going but it isn't going to work if you have a restriction so be sure the suction screen...

Interesting thread. Time to head on down to the hardware store for a spring. Crude, but effective ;)

Oil? Does anything really bad happen if you have the oil level above full?

Well, the K&N has that big nut on it. Can't remember the last time I change my full flow filter. With a bypass filter the regular filter just plugs the hole and never gets anything in it. Stays on there a long time. If you want grippy use a piece of sandpaper in your hand to remove those tough...

    brake light sensor question

86 1/2: I'm still confused. What did he remove if you still have the LED light in the wing? Monsewer CRE has become our resident expert on that box. Maybe he'll chime in. I'm running out of time. Duty calls...

    brake light sensor question

You mean he removed the CHMSL and now you get a light out indication on the dash? If so you'll need to open up the sensor and change the calibration resistor. Or just bypass the box completely and be done with it. Lots of people do. I paid for it so I won't.

Oil? Does anything really bad happen if you have the oil level above full?

Wally World SuperTech is made by Warren Oil. It's actually pretty decent oil. Bottom line is if an oil is an SL or SM rated Grp 3 or better it's fine for use in this car. And yeah, Frams suck but it's a question of value more than quality. Millions of people use the Orange Can O' Doom without...
