Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

LOL...quality evidence? Videos of you and your Dad out in the garage? On a machine that "may" (and that's a BIG may) be good for demonstrating oil shear? And it's ok in your mind to compare your product to another product...one that got spanked by the FTC? This is suppose to convince us...

Hmmm...I thought Prolong was a sex lube...LOL Seriously though, Donny do you mean this FTC Decision & Order on Prolong Super Lubricants, Inc : http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/legal/prodecis.html Is this an FTC conspiracy to keep this product off the market too? :runaway:

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

I would like to encourage everyone that reads this thread to visit Brad's website (in his sig). There are several test videos with Brad and his Father in the family garage testing Bi-Trol against several other oils and additives. The machine (yes, it's a Timken machine) they are using is...

Compression tester stuck in plug hole (F*ck.)

I'd sacrifice the tester before I took the head off. Could you get a socket over the thing if you cut the hose off even with the spark plug well?

    Are ARP studs reusable???

Take a look at this: http://www.arp-bolts.com/Tech/TechInstall.html Suprarich gave you good advise...you want to measure the length of the stud to insure it was not over torqued. According to Cometic, the only time you have to re-torque once the MHG is installed is if you are using...

SAE and API are responsible for motor oil standards. The service categories you are referring to is an alphanumeric code developed by API to specify a level of performance defined by ASTM D 4485 and SAE Standard J183. As new service categories are developed, new alphanumeric codes are assigned...

    Oil: Royal Purple

Down - I'm not familiar with the M3, but I do know it's not a Supra. The oils recommended in our manual is 20 years old...lubrication technology has come an awful long way since then. Now Toyota is recommending the lighter weight oils. I didn't say the 50-60 weight oils were bad, I said they...

    Oil: Royal Purple

Damn...that's a good post Steven. Go to the oil forum posted earlier in this thread and do a search for "Molyslip" in the Additive Section and you will find some of the basis I spoke of. Moly comes in two forms (maybe more)...inorganic MoS2 which must be in a carrier (suspension) to flow...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

You're killing me man :3d_frown: Typical behavior involving sales of this type of product...get backed into a corner when you can't back up your claims and you resort to personal insults. You proved my point nicely...thank you ;) The bottom line: - You can't provide test data...not...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

Just as I thought...no answers - No independent testing...it's a conspiracy anyway...standards are really meaningless right? So now you're saying that it's "Big Oil" coming down on the little guy? The SAE doesn't care about saving fuel and wear on an engine? Come on man, you can do better...

What about my questions tekdeus? Donny is not being condescending, he's speaking the truth. You've neatly side stepped my questions...and, I guess you have SAE/API test equipment at your house. Gosh, I wish I could have toys like that. BTW, the next time I'm in Vancouver I just might take...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

Nice...more "testimonials" based on "feel". Show me the test data...based on industry standard tests. Video can (and does) lie. Anyone with a video editor can do that now and days. Also, tell me what's in your "magic oil"...I don't want the formula, just the chemicals that makes it up...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

Shytheed - The additive I was referring to is Valvoline SynPower Oil Treatment (VSOT). It's good for reinforcing an oil's additive pack (especially a cheap Group III oil), but you don't want to go nuts with it...i.e. more is not better. Otherwise you risk changing the oil that you are using...

    Oil: Royal Purple

Steven - you peaked my interest on Molyslip. IMO you don't want to use it...it contains MoS2 (inorganic Molybdenum DiSulphide) in a collodial suspension...it's unstable, especially at higher temperatures. Tests made with MoS2 showed that it may be quite stable when new, but with oil oxidation...

Bi-Tron Oil Additive...Snake Oil? You be the Judge

Yeah...I confess...I'm an oil geek. JJ converted me :biglaugh: There's a couple of additives out there that work...they basically reinforce the add pack in the oil. No outlandish claims either...they are what they are. Yes I do Matt. I've learned over the years is it sounds too good to...
