    Anyone seen this one around?

Not my cup 'o tea, but it is the 1st time I've seen a "ricer" wing look half way decent on a Supra. Not that it even looks like a Supra anymore, but at least they put in the effort to make it look good (for what it is).

    Heater core bypass (pics inside)

Yeah...if the outlet you plugged is on the drivers side hardline that goes around the block...can't make it out in the 2nd pic...the one in the 1st pic is correct. Make sure you use clamps on the rubber nipples you used. You can remove the entire heater valve assembly on the passenger...

    Watery Sound

There's air in the cooling system. Check the radiator cap and have a pressure test done on the cooling system to see if there are any leaks allowing air into the system. Don't use a 160 deg thermostat...the ECU uses coolant temperature to switch from cold to warm temp ops. A 160 deg...

Car does not want to run (idle)!

You should get a code 51 as soon as the pedal is moved. The IDL contact in the TPS tells the ECU when to go to idle speed control and enables idle stabilization which advances timing when the O2 sensor senses lean. Check your TPS. Try unplugging it and see how the car runs...the car will...

    Tell me it aint so....

And it could be a combination of things too...air in the system from a leak, fan clutch, radiator cap. They can all add up to cause weirdness in the cooling system. Oh course, Andy could be right as well...a BHG. It's worth it to make sure the cooling system is up to speed 1st. ;) Chris...

    new starter/engine cleanup

Clip - You did a nice job :bigthumb: Looks really good man!

    Tell me it aint so....

You know...this is very good advice. Especially since it seems rpm related...your fan may not be pulling enough air flow over the radiator to get rid of the heat.

    Burning oil

A "heavy loaded engine" means one driven under repeated, severe conditions: Towing a trailer, dusty roads, short trips (< 5 miles) w/ temps less than freezing outside, extensive idling or low speed driving (taxi, delivery, etc). This applies to maybe 1% of the owners out there (who tows a...

    Tell me it aint so....

Andy - It very well may be a BHG. However, I had a clogged/leaky radiator that caused symptoms a lot alike what he's experiencing. Getting the cooling system pressure tested will tell the tale. Followed by a NAPA block test of course for a BHG ;) A pressure test doesn't cost very...

    Burning oil

You seriously don't need to change the oil that often...if your motor is in decent shape, 5000 miles on dino oil is often enough. You can go longer on a syn oil. Amsoil can go a very long time...I would not run over 7-8000 miles without doing oil analysis.

    Silencers?

LOL...Nice try ;) At least that's what the judge would say. The second you have an inner chamber with holes that vent gas into an outer chamber with sound deadening material like steel wool...you have a suppressor. You probably would get probation though if you have no previous record. In...

Ticking noise, could it be exhaust leak?

Exhaust leaks will make a ticking sound...mostly from the manifold or EGR cooler though. Haven't heard one for the back of the turbo. I bet your motor is due for a valve shim adjustment.

    Silencers?

Not just illegal...a federal felony. You have to process the paperwork through your local Sheriff and pay the tax before you can own a suppressor. I you want to make one, gotta do the same thing.

Hey Bro's I need some help.

Was the block deck already machined for a MHG? If so, use WD-40 to clean it off...it's likely all surface rust. Don't use emery cloth (too abrasive)...get a fine scotch bright pad and use it with the WD-40. Wipe with cotton cloth and inspect for pitting. Make sure crap does not get in the...

    Multi Layer HG...Any good??

If that's a Cometic...it's a good price. You still need one the correct thickness though ;) Contact them like Tony suggested and maybe you can get exactly what you need.

    Burning oil

Especially on a turbo motor...a turbo does not have rubber seals like the crank or cam shafts. Some oil will get past this type of seal..."burning" a small amount of oil is normal for a turbo motor. :umno: Do some research on oil film thickness under hydrodynamic conditions like those...

Fixed my rod knock..but still low oil pressure...oil cooler question I guess?

That is the oil pressure test...measured using a calibrated oil pressure gauge installed at the sending unit location on the block. The gauge on the dash is not that accurate ;)

    Multi Layer HG...Any good??

    Now you're talking...excellent decision ;)
